5 Days / 4 Nights - NAIROBI SERVICE PROJECT 7 HOME STAY & SAFARI TO LAKE NAKURU

 

Day 1: Mombasa - Nairobi Arrival
Transfer to Moi Airport for your flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before transferring to Mother Teresa's Sisters of Charity' Center where you will be given an orientation and assigned to specific tasks. In the evening, you are invited to stay at the home of a Kenyan family. (Please take a small thank you gift for your hosts such as something from your home city' or university.) (L, D; Home stay)

 

Day 2: Spend a day at Mother Teresa's Center
Return to Mother Teresa's Center for a full day of activities. In the evening, you and your host family are invited to dinner at the famous Carnivore restaurant.(B, L, D; Home stay)

 

Day 3: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart in the morning for a 2-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in this park that has a variety' of animals, but is famous for its concentrations of flamingoes. The park is also home to the first rhino sanctuary in the country. Visit the World Wildlife Fund Rhino Project and learn about current issues affecting the African rhinos, as well as conservation measures being taken. In the evening, participate in a question-and-answer session with your Safari Director. Later, enjoy a traditional dance presentation and learn a Swahili song taught by your Safari Director. Day 4: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park
Enjoy a game drive this morning before returning to the lodge for breakfast. In addition to the abundance of wildlife you have been viewing in the Great Rift Valley, the area also boasts fascinating geological and prehistoric sites of interest. In the afternoon, drive to the Lake Elementaita Viewpoint. (B, L, D; Lion Hill Lodge)

 

Day 5 : Lake Nakuru National Park - Nairobi.
Enjoy a final game drive before breakfast. You will then depart for Nairobi (a drive of 2 ½ hours). After lunch, proceed to the airport for your return flight to Mombasa and transfer to the ship. (B, L)
