12 Days/ 11 Nights Kenya Bush Home Flying Safari Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi Arrival. Overnight at Ngong House Karen District, Nairobi
Arrive at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening, where you will be met by the warm, smiling face of your private guide, Paul.

Paul will transfer you to Ngong House, where you may have a light snack before settling in for the night. During your first night in Africa, you will probably awaken to the peculiar, electrifying call of a territorial male tree hyrax!

In fact, these furry brown creatures that look like giant guinea pigs are the closest living relatives to the elephant! Enjoy your first night in Africa!

Meal Plan {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}

Days 2, 3 & 4: Tsavo National Park, Chyulu Hills

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport where you will board a flight to the Chyulu Hills. As you fly into the area to your right you will get your first glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's largest free standing mountain which sits amidst the vast plains of south eastern Kenya.

You arrive at the camp and are warmly welcomed by your hosts Luca and Antonella and then taken to your cottage. The thatched roof guest cottages have a wide veranda to provide superb views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Tsavo Hills. Activities include nature walks and game drives in open-top, four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Due to a diverse habitat, a wide range of wildlife is found here. Antelope, such as oryx and gerenuk, mix with zebra, topi, impala, eland and wildebeest.

After your safari, return to the camp for a breakfast that includes fresh local fruit such as mango and pineapple. Following breakfast, you can enjoy an escorted safari on foot, or just relax at the camp.

Days 5, 6, 7 & 8: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. The Mara holds the greatest and most diverse concentration of wildlife remaining in Africa today. It is home to the Masai people and to small clans of Ndorobo, the traditional hunter-gatherers of East Africa.

Recalling an era of luxury and sophistication, Cottar's 1920's Camp returns to the original spirit and essence of 'safari,' reminiscent of a golden era - an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance, in a timelessly unspoiled setting with panoramic views and boundless game.

Each day in the Mara will be dramatically different to the next, you may spend hours tracking rhino on foot with an Ndorobo tracker, or sitting quietly for hours observing a typical day in the life of a pride of Mara lions, or let the circus antics of infant cheetah cubs bring tears of laughter to your eyes.

You will enjoy three wonderful days exploring this incredible wilderness area with guides who will share their knowledge of the native flora and fauna and man's interaction with it!

The Northern Frontier District is a peaceful wilderness with spectacular vistas and beautiful sunsets. Staying here, in the very heartland of the nomadic Samburu, Borana, Masai and Pokot people, you will have the rare opportunity to experience cultures and traditions that continue to move to the beat of an ancient drum.
