Detailed Itinerary

Tanzania 4 Days/3 Nights Safari, features both Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and has been described as one of the great natural wonders of the world. Lake Manyara National Park, on the other hand is two thirds water, one third dry land and it is home to a spectacular concentration of game for such a small area.

Accommodation is at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge in Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara Serena Lodge in Manyara.

Day 1

Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, met and assisted by African Spice Safaris representative. Transfer to Arusha for lunch. Afternoon drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Arrive at your lodge in the evening. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2

Ngorongoro Crater
This morning we descend 2,000 feet into the giant caldera of this extinct volcano. This magnificent natural amphitheatre contains the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino and elephant share this land with the legendary Masai tribesmen. Because the grasses are short, game is easily spotted and can be approached quite closely. We spend a splendid morning on the floor of the crater observing wildlife in this ageless World Heritage Site.

Day 3

Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park
Depart after breakfast for Lake Manyara National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is a fitting close to such a dramatic journey. Small, beautiful and richly diverse, its manageable size makes it possible to see virtually every highlight in a day, from its ponds of hippos wallowing in the lake alongside the pink fluttering of a million flamingoes, to its rich wildlife and perhaps some of the park’s famous tree-lounging lions.

Day 4

Lake Manyara – Arusha
Breakfast and one last look at Lake Manyara National Park on a morning game drive before we head to Arusha. We check into the New Arusha Hotel or Arusha Coffee Lodge and enjoy a few hours of relaxation by the pool or perhaps revisit a favorite shop or two. After dinner we proceed to the Kilimanjaro International airport knowing that this has been a journey to remember for the rest of our lives.
