The lodge is located a few minutes off the new and superb Nairobi – Nakuru highway on a very good, private access road at the shore of Lake Elementaita, bordering and overlooking Soysambu Conservancy.

Sunbird Lodge is named after one of the more than 450 species of birds in this area. The setting overlooks the vast plains of Soysambu Conservancy. Beautifully nestled in a pristine environment above Lake Elementaita one can experience the amazing sunsets from the Sunbird lodge.

Being a small and exclusive lodge holding not more than 35 guests at a time, sunbird Lodge offers 14 large and luxurious cottages.

They are built from natural materials and thatched roofs; each cottage has its own verandah, king size bed, additional single bed, en-suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, safes and telephones.

Day 1 : Nairobi to Sun Bird Lodge Lake Elementaita

Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and drive by minibus to Sunbird Lodge, arriving at lunch to stay 2 nights at Sunbird Lodge with views across lake Elementaita.

After lunch enjoy the afternoon free viewing the spectacular Lake Elementaita from the lodge's ground or from your room.

Alternatively take the Sunbird Lodge Walking Safaris on the private Soysambu Conservancy (at an extra cost).

Day 2 : Explore Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning take a hot Air Balloon Safari over the Great Rift Valley (optional activity with an extra cost) then depart for a full day game drive Lake Nakuru Park.

For non- ballooners after breakfast we drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Return to Sunbird lodge late in the afternoon.

The remainder of the day is at leisure, relaxing by the lodge before dinner.
