Shalom House Centre is an initiative of Koinonia Community, a lay Christian organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. It houses a documentation centre on peace and reconciliation in Africa and various associations promoting a culture of peace such as Koinonia Action for Peace and Koinonia Advisory Research & Development Services.

Shalom House Centre Guest House offers 14 comfortable double and single rooms, 7 comfortable self contained private rooms and 7 self contained rooms with bunk beds for 4 persons, all with tiled bathrooms and a hot shower. Each room is equipped with a work desk and high speed wireless broadband internet.

The cozy common lounge has satellite TV with over 56 local and international channels. A cyber cafe is found within the premises. There are also electronic safes. Laundry services are available.

Shalom House Centre has two restaurants; Larena which specializes in Italian cuisine and, Baraza Cafe which specializes in wholesome African dishes. The two restaurants are ideal meeting places where residents can enjoy their meals in tranquility.

Be it just a snack or a whole feast, these are the places to be. You may also sip a drink at the Baraza bar as you watch DSTV Sports channels or enjoy Nyama Choma (Barbeque) at the gardens.

Shalom House Centre Canteen offers a wide variety of wholesome Kenyan meals and snacks at very affordable prices. Special rates for groups can be negotiated. Diet meals are available. The same Canteen can provide outside catering.

Shalom House Centre - Conferences & Events

Shalom House Centre has 5 conference rooms; 2 can comfortably accommodate 80 participants each and 2 can accommodate 20 participants each. They are ideal for conferences, seminars, workshops, group meetings and corporate functions.

The two big meeting places have wireless internet, Simultaneous translation services and state of the art audio visual and media equipment are available upon request.

There is a garden for break-outs and team building activities. All conference packages are customized to meet individual client needs. Different groups can be hosted at the same time. Charges for the conference rooms range from 2,000 Kenyan shillings to 6,000 Kenyan shillings per day.

Shalom House Centre also has a conference meal package of 1,350 kenyan shillings per person per day that includes buffet lunch, 1300 hours and 1600 hours beverages, half a litre of bottled water and snacks. Small notepads, pens, whiteboard markers, flip charts and dusters are provided.
