Muchiri's Resort Ndakaini is situated an hour and fifteen minutes away drive from Nairobi city centre and is a unique combination of peaceful refreshing countryside ambience with all the modern amenities that today’s traveler requires at work and leisure.

The resort is situated on eight acres on the shores of Ndakaini Dam, about 80 kilometers north of Nairobi. Ndakaini Dam was funded by the World Bank and is managed by Nairobi City Council (NCC).

Muchiri's Resort Ndakaini cottages have 3-4 beds in each and provide a cozy feel with services designed to soothe your nerves ..... Basic room amenities include hot and cold shower features. The cottages can accommodate more guests for those's wishing to bring extra mats or mattresses to sleep on the floor.

The hotel offers friendly, affordable and scrumptious meals. The average cost for breakfast, lunch or dinner ranges between 400 Kenya Shillings – 1,000 Kenya Shillings per meal per person. Popular dishes include salad and your choice of either rice and beans or mashed potatoes, beef, chicken, roast potatoes, Ugali e.t.c

Muchiri's Resort offers acceptable alternatives for vegetarians and a healthy option of a vegetarian diet includes fruits, vegetables, beans, grains, dairy products and eggs. For camping Muchiri's Resort allows guests to bring their foods which can be easily prepared. The hotel is also relatively close to the Ndakaini shopping centre where some basic food stuffs can be bought.

Muchiri's Resort Ndakaini provides a small gas cooker for camping for cooking and also for those using the cottages and wish to prepare their own meals for a small fee. Large groups that wish to stay for long periods and wish to have their foods (menu) prepared, can communicate their needs in advance so that the resort can organize for them. Laundry services are available.

* Breakfast is served between 8am to 10am, lunch between 12pm to 2pm and dinner from 7pm to 9pm

* The prices quoted for camping are ground fees, i.e. one has their own camping equipment, such as tents, sleeping mats etc

Ndakaini Half Marathon

Ndakaini Marathon started in 2004 under the auspices of the Ndakaini Dam Environmental conservation Association (NDEKA). The mission of NDEKA is to support sustainable supply of safe water to the Ndakaini Dam through conservation of the catchment area and the empowerment of the local community to develop viable social economic enterprises associated with the dam.

Participation is open to people of all ages who wish to prove that they can handle the challenging 21km course around the scenic Ndakaini Dam (Altitude 2040m). The 2011 edition of the annual UAP Ndakaini Half Marathon will be held sometime around Mid September around Ndakaini Dam course.
