L'ol dacha hotel buildings are constructed from stones and boulders dug from the surrounding land and are built into the hillside to blend in with the natural environment. There is a general purpose day room with split level dining room and kitchen attached. There are three self-contained double units with cold water washrooms, and a 'log cabin'-cum-general-purpose evening room with a further double unit attached.

L'ol dacha hotel has two solar heated showers (one is outdoors) offer very hot water. The outdoor shower with sundeck for drying must boast one of the most scenic views in the world (as does the long drop). There is a little 'grass-house' offering two extra beds when necessary.

L'ol Dacha Hotel Activities

* Resting under the trees

* Lounging in a hammock

* Simply relax and enjoy the distant vistas while sipping cool drinks by the pool

* Binoculars always at hand to check out the birds and animals nearby Colorful resident birds (woodpeckers, sun birds, weaverbirds, starlings) feed just a few feet from the veranda

* Game is shy, but most days one will see the resident Chandler's reedbuck, and often, klipspringer, eland, baboon and the very occasional leopard, buffalo and aardvark

* Explore a variety of scenic walking tours, either gentle circular tours on the plateau for those more adventurous, down to the floor of the gorge on the east or west. On the plateau walks you will find a multitude of different species of natural indigenous flora. The more adventurous walks down to the normally dry riverbeds pass caves still in use by the local Masai on ceremonial occasions. Be sure to bring proper walking shoes
