Jambo House Guest House Lamu is accessed via Manda Island Airport or at the Bus Terminal in Mokowe. From there it's just a 15 minute boat ride to Lamu Town. Jambo House consists of 5 friendly in Lamu Style furnished rooms with mosquito net, ceiling fan and have private bathrooms.

Jambo House is a small guesthouse with only 5 rooms: (2) self-contained, (2) with outside bathroom/toilet (private/not shared) and (1) with integrated shower but outside toilet (private/not shared). Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace with a good view of Lamu Town. There are also sun beds available to relax. Part of the house is connected to solar power.

Jambo House is ideally located in the historical Old Quarter of Lamu Town which is UNESCO World Heritage Site since the year 2001. From Jambo House, it's just a three minute walk through narrow lanes to the main square where the locals meet in the evening. There you also find the traditional Lamu Fort.

From here it's just a stone's throw to Seafront where you find some restaurants and cafés. Jambo House recommends Nasri and his Seafront Café to enjoy nice food at reasonable prices and the best freshly squeezed juices! From Jambo House you easily reach small shops, internet cafés, KCB Bank with international ATM, offices of airlines and bus companies and also museums.

To reach a 13 km (8 miles) deserted beach with dunes you have two options: you could have a leisurely walk along the seafront (approximately 30 minutes) or you could take a local dhow to get there in around 20 minutes. Jambo House recommends covering at least one distance by motor dhow because from the boat you get a different and interesting view of Lamu Town.
