Full Moon House is located in Shela village on Lamu Island off the north eastern coast of Kenya. The house offers luxury accommodation for up to six people, and all your needs will be attended to by the staff to ensure a relaxing holiday.

Lamu island is located off the northeastern coast of Kenya. There are at least 3 daily flights from Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport) and from Malindi. The flight from Nairobi takes a little more than an hour and only 20 minutes from Malindi.

Once you get to Manda/ Lamu airport a member of the Full Moon House team will be at the arrivals with a sign and will escort you to our traditional boat and drive you to your Shela village (15 minutes boat ride).

Full Moon House features three bedrooms and is fully staffed with chefs, stewards, laundry ladies, captains, and managers for your convenience. Your cook is trained to run all errands and prepares all meals for you. You can select your meals from our guideline menu and will be served in a private dining area. Food is charged at cost and recorded in a book of accounts.

Full Moon House offers a true island feel, with a large balcony to enjoy the sunset, as well as a swimming pool shared with one of our sister houses. We will ensure that you are met at the Manda/Lamu airport by one of our staff members who will escort you to the traditional boat and drive you to Shela. From here you will also be escorted to the house.

Lamu Island offers a variety of festivals throughout the year and offers many activities to keep you busy. Guests can snorkel on the reefs or swim with the dolphins, enjoy a sunset cruise or simply explore the island. All activities can be arranged through the house manager on your request.
