Day 1
Nairobi Arrival – Nairobi Serena Hotel
Arrival and Transfer to the Hotel the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Day 2
Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve – Samburu Serena Lodge
This morning we travel by light aircraft to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and beisa oryxes. A place of endless skies, dust-red plains and palm-fringed rivers, Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and arid desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, whose heat–scorched scrub lands extend all the way to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana and beyond. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometer landscape of the Reserve features rocky battlements, craggy scarps, dry river beds and fallen boulders rising out of the thorn scrub against a backdrop of the far-distant hills and the great red table mountain known as Lololokwi.

Day 3
Samburu National Reserve – Serena Samburu Safari Lodge

Dawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy Lodge.

Day 4
Samburu – Masai Mara Game Reserve – Mara Serena Safari Lodge

This morning we enplane for the Mara, winging west over the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the unspoiled savannah of the Masai Mara where magnificent events await. Here we may savour a Bush Walk with an expert naturalist guide, experiencing the world of the Mara from the ground up— an invigorating opportunity to stretch our legs and be a part of the land. Or we may try a Hot-Air Balloon Safari. Our accommodations are equally superlative at the Mara Serena Lodge.

Masai Mara Game Reserve – Mara Serena Safari Lodge

The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today and tomorrow during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. We also visit a Masai village and glimpse life so ancient and yet so enduring that it astonishes. The true pinnacle of our journey to the Mara however will be Bush Sundowners—a civilized cocktail party staged in the untamed wilds of Africa.

Day 8

Nairobi – Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge
This morning we fly over the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Masai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of elephant. An afternoon game run is planned.

Day 9
Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge
Amboseli is big game country: elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe. Two game runs are planned today, both which will introduce you to the intense beauty and drama that fill each day here. Predators stalk the herds of grazing animals, recreating the age-old drama of life and death under the African sun, in a setting so lushly beautiful. We return to Amboseli Serena for a steaming bath, cocktails and a sumptuous dinner. Very quickly we are ready for a deep evening slumber in the luxurious tents that enfold us like silken cocoons.

Day 11
Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park – Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

After breakfast, we drive to Wilson Airport for our scheduled early morning flight to Tsavo National Park. The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, which is an example of recent volcanic eruption. Movie the Ghost and the Darkness was shot here.

Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge – The first lodge ever to be built in a Kenyan National Park, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro, encircled by volcanic splendor, adjacent to a teeming water hole and daily visited by vast herds of elephant, buffalo and plains game. Day 12

Tsavo West – Mombasa
Early morning game drive, return to lodge for breakfast and depart for Mombasa with a game drive en-route as you leave the Park. Arrive Mombasa early afternoon at Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Mombasa

The perfect destination to relax under the tropical sun and the coconut palm trees. Here you have lots of options like visit the National Museum, sunbathing on the beautiful beaches, visit the Marine Parks, participating in the various water sports, snorkeling, Buccaneer diving, touring Mombasa town as well as shopping.
