Basecamp Masai Mara is located on the banks of the Talek River. The camp has 15 tents and is one of the most ecologically friendly camps in Kenya. Both electricity and hot water are generated using solar power. All the waste water from the tents is used to water over 3,000 trees and all the kitchen waste is separated and composted. Base Camp Explorer provides individual tents designed to make your stay in the Mara unforgettable. You can enjoy the privacy and the peace of your own veranda, while the beautiful views of the Mara and the magical sounds of the African night soothe your soul.

The practical and appealing tent interiors, comfortable beds and hot showers in your private bathroom further contribute to your feeling of well-being. Evening meals are of a high standard and incorporate fresh baked bread, and African and international influences. Dining can be taken under the stars weather permitting or in the open, thatched-roof dining hall.

The viewing tower offers spectacular views of the sun setting over the Burrungat plains. As sundowners are drunk, silhouettes of elephants and giraffes wander slowly into the sunset.
