Enjoy a truly authentic safari experience on our 2 nights road safari to Tsavo East National Park from Mombasa. Experience Africa’s wilderness and get up close to dust–red elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk, and the prolific bird life (500 recorded species).
Tsavo East is Kenya’s oldest national park. It is home to the largest Elephant herds in the country, as well as large pride of Lions. The region was made famous due to the Maneaters of Tsavo, two Lions that killed around 130 people during the construction of the railway line in 1898. Today tourists can see the large pride of Lion which call the Tsavo National Park home.
This trip begins and ends in Mombasa – pick up from a hotel or straight from the airport. The tour includes road transport in a 4×4 safari vehicle or a mini-van with a professional safari driver guide, 2 nights of full board accommodation of superb quality, a well-located lodge/ camp, shared game drives, and park entrance fees.
The journey begins from Mombasa by road to Tsavo East National Park located about 160 kilometers – approximately 2½ hours’ drive from Mombasa. Enjoy lunch at the lodge/ camp before setting out on an afternoon game drive. You will be back in the lodge or camp in time for dinner.
On day 2 day we explore the park on morning and afternoon game drives. The Park is home to a good population of giraffes, many Zebra, Impala, and Gazelles, as well as irascible Buffalo. Predators are represented by a large pride of Lions, elusive Leopards, and the fastest animal on land – the Cheetah.
On day 3 we have breakfast then we drive back to Mombasa arriving by lunch hour and drop off at your hotel.
Tsavo East National Park 3 Days 2 Nights Mombasa Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa North or South Coast Beach Hotel – Drive to Tsavo East National Park (3-hour drive)
0730 Hours: You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel. Drive to Tsavo East National Park. Upon arrival at the entrance gate (Bachuma Gate), you will proceed on a safari game drive. The park is home to a wide variety of species including “Red elephants of Tsavo” (Which are world-famous, their name is due to the red earth they use to cover themselves in).
Other animals include Lion, Cheetah, Buffalo, Beisa Oryx, Lesser Kudu, Hippo, Zebra, and Giraffe. Tsavo is rich in birdlife.
1230 Hours: Check in at your lodge/ camp in time for lunch. Enjoy lunch followed by some rest time.
1530 Hours: Proceed for an afternoon game drive till late in the evening. Return to the camp to refresh/ enjoy some cocktails at the bar.
1930 Hours: Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/ Camp.

Day 2: Explore Tsavo East National Park (Safari gamed drives)
0630 Hours: Enjoy an early morning game drive because you may see lots of animals around this time. Some 500 bird species have been recorded in the area, including ostrich and some migratory kestrels, while buzzards stop at Tsavo-East during their long flight south.
0930 Hours: Return to camp for breakfast. You will relax at the lodge or opt for a mid-morning safari game drive with a visit to the Lugard Falls – a series of shortfalls and steep rapids on the Galana River, Yatta Plateau, and Mudanda Rock.
1230 Hours: Return to your lodge/ camp for lunch. Enjoy lunch followed by some rest time.
1530 Hours: Proceed for an afternoon game drive till late in the evening. Return to the camp to refresh/ enjoy some cocktails at the bar.
1930 Hours: Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/ Camp

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park Drive to Mombasa
0800 Hours: Enjoy breakfast (check out of the Camp/ Lodge) followed by a game drive en route as you leave the park.
1200 Hours: Enjoy lunch along the way (Lunch may be a hotel or a picnic lunch box).
1400 Hours: Depart for Mombasa arriving late in the afternoon.
1800 Hours: You will be dropped off at your hotel in Mombasa.
