Subukia Bandas Nakuru is an eco-camp situated right inside the Muringa Farm in the Subukia Valley, about 40 km from Nakuru 45 minutes drive and 22 km from Nyahururu.

The bandas are about 190 km from the Kenya’s capital Nairobi – a three-hour drive from Nairobi (very good asphalted road).

There are 6 bandas (true Kalenjin bandas) which are rustic and basic. They are made by local workers and offer real african experience. The bandas comprising of 3 double bandas and 3 twin bandas.

Each banda features tea/ coffee making facilities  and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The bandas are powered by solar panels and extra beds can be added for children.

Subukia Bandas Restaurant offer a varied meals (first course-main course- dessert, local and international cooking) are prepared with care by two cooks and served at the restaurant hut on the lake, where you will enjoy the view and the serenity of the place, and you will be able to observe birds and maybe river otters.

Activities in the Subukia Bandas Nakuru include horse-riding and liberty training with horses, trekking through Subukia Valley, cultural visits to the village etc.

Other activities available include camel safari (advance booking required), bird watching, farm animal care (70 domestic animals), monkeys observation, nature trail and guided walks with information about medicinal plants, small boat-ride on the dam etc.

Guests can also enjoy visits to the Lake Elementaita and Kerio Valley.
