Serena Mountain Lodge is a luxury safari tree hotel located in the Forest Reserve Area of Mount Kenya National Park, at 2,194 meters. The lodge is 193 km Northeast of Nairobi and the nearest towns are Nyeri at 42 Km and Nanyuki at 73 Km.

Mount Kenya is Kenya’s highest mountain, a climber’s Mecca, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, and a wildlife preserve. Many climbers, hikers, trekkers, and adventure enthusiasts challenge themselves by ascending the mountain each year.

The lodge has 42 cabin-style rooms comprising 20 double rooms, 19 twin rooms, and 3 triple rooms. Each room is fitted with a telephone, satellite TV, work desk, seating area, electric kettle, closet, multipurpose adapters, and nightly hot water bottles.

The interior décor echoes the Kikuyu culture and features hand-woven wall hangings, soft lighting, and cozy, warm soft furnishings. The rooms are designed with an open-view deck which allows for stunning views of the waterhole which attracts numerous herds of elephants and buffaloes.

Serena Mountain Lodge Mount Kenya’s central dining room is raised to tree level, offering long views over the forest canopy. All meals are served on a buffet basis and showcase both local and international cuisine. Vegetarian options are always available.

The well-stocked bar, with a central fireplace and viewing deck, serves a broad selection of old- and new-world wines, local and imported beers, spirits, and a wide range of soft drinks, including an array of freshly made local fruit juices and a wide range of fruit and herbal infusions.

There are 2 conference facilities: a Panoramic tented rooftop terrace and an interior conference room. The facilities have PA systems, LCD overhead projectors, podiums, flip charts, and marker pens and can also hold 20 – 100 guests.

The Serena Mountain Lodge Mount Kenya is also the perfect venue for exchanging vows, especially in an authentic Kikuyu wedding ceremony with the local chief, dancers, and singers. The wedding can be a forest ceremony or set against the backdrop of the mountain peaks.

Serena Mountain Lodge Mount Kenya activities include trout fishing, tree planting, bush meals, mountain climbing, nightly wildlife talks, nature trails, Moorland excursions, bird watching, and a day trips to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and dance displays by the local traditional Mwomboko dancers.
