Kawamwaki Farm in Tigoni, Limuru, offers a scenic horseback-riding day tour through rolling tea plantations, indigenous forests, and past waterfalls. The farm operates an equestrian center with well-schooled horses suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced riders. 

Our Nairobi Horseback Riding Day Tour: less than 25 km from Gigiri in Nairobi, you can ride horses through beautiful open countryside away from the city’s pollution and congestion. We pick you up after breakfast at your hotel/ residence and drive to Kawamwaki Farm, located in the tea country of Limuru, a pleasant 70-minute drive from the city.

Kawamwaki’s neighbors are tea estates, and, coupled with its elevation (altitude of 2000 meters), the land offers magnificent riding and walking opportunities, close to Nairobi, with breathtaking views.

The farm produces fresh vegetables for the Nairobi and Kenya market, using traditional and organic methods. During your horse riding tour, you will visit a horse center, where you will be welcomed, followed by a steaming cup of coffee/ tea or a refreshing glass of juice. Then it is time to match up with the horses.

You will be required to sign an indemnity form and will be fitted with hard hats before you meet the horses. Your ride will take you through picturesque tea & coffee plantations, a spectacular waterfall, and lovely open countryside.
