Mombasa 1 Day Tour Visit School Home Orphanage

Mombasa 1-Day Tour: Visit a School or Children’s Home. Our 1-day tour of a school or children’s home in Mombasa includes interactive activities, learning sessions, and opportunities to donate. This tour is designed to be fulfilling for our guests while providing essential support and hope to vulnerable children.

This tour includes a visit to one of the many orphanages and homes for abandoned children in Mombasa. These homes are within easy reach of hotels on the Mombasa North Coast or Mombasa South Coast.

These orphanages provide not only a home and education to so many desperately needy children who otherwise may not even survive, but they also give them a family, provide love and support, teach morals and manners, and show these children who have had the hardest of starts in life what it feels like to be loved.

What seems like the smallest contribution can sometimes make the biggest difference.

Mombasa’s North Coast Orphanages include Wa Salama, Mikoroshoni School, Lioness Cubs Home, Kikambala Children’s Home/Nursery School, Good Life Orphanage, and the Feeding Station, Kikambala.

Mombasa South Coast Orphanages include Shikamana School, Hermann Nursery & Primary School, Tumaini Timbwani School in Likoni, and Little Angels Academy.

While visiting these children’s homes, one could donate money or bring foodstuffs such as maize flour, wheat flour, cooking oil, spread, bread, etc. Fruit and vegetables are cheap, plentiful, and very much appreciated.

You could also buy toiletries, disinfectants, cleaning supplies, washing powder, and sanitary items for the girls at the orphanage. Schools need books, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, geometry sets, footballs, and game equipment.

Mombasa 1-day tour: visit a school, home, or orphanage is a full-day excursion to one of the many children’s schools/ homes/ orphanages within easy reach of your hotel/ residence on the Mombasa North Coast or South Coast. In Kenya, the term ‘orphanage’ spans a variety of institutions, including children’s homes, care centers, and rehabilitation centers.

These organizations care for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or abused and have no other place to go. Having lived tragic lives without love and affection, the main thing most of these children need is some care and attention. Your 1-day tour to one of these centers will be deeply fulfilling.

Many orphanages and children’s centers open their doors to other impoverished children during the day by providing feeding programs or community schools that benefit both the children living there and the wider community.

Depending on your availability, you may assist with the day-to-day care of the orphans, run the orphanage, help with feeding and food preparation, etc. You could also join in playtime, arrange extracurricular activities, sports, arts and crafts, and entertainment, and generally bring fun and affection to the lives of these vulnerable and deprived kids.

You may also be asked to help teach a variety of essential subjects, such as basic English, maths, reading, and indeed anything else in which you have experience. You may also work with young children and babies who either have no family or are from very deprived backgrounds.

Some of the children are suffering from HIV or AIDS and have been abandoned or are too sick to go to school; others may have been subject to abuse. Most children need love and affection, and you will be utterly astounded to see how much your care and attention can change their lives.

Some of the schools, homes, and orphanages we visit on Mombasa’s north coast include Lioness Cubs Home (Kikambala), Mikoroshoni School (Shanzu), Cannan Orphanage (Mombasa), and Wema Centre (Mombasa). Others include Kikambala Children’s Home/Nursery School (Kikambala), Tabarak Children’s Home (Kisauni), Shanzu Orphanage Home (Shanzu), Good Life Orphanage (Mtwapa), Mji wa Salama Children’s Home (Makande Mombasa), etc.

On the south coast, we may visit Shikamana School for orphans and disadvantaged children in Diani; Diani Children’s Village; UPENDO Children’s Village; SOS Children’s Village Mombasa; Salvation Army Mombasa Children’s Home; Footprints, an orphanage in the Shimba Hills near Diani; etc., among others.
