Lake Magadi Tented Camp Kenya

Lake Magadi Tented Camp was situated on the shore of Lake Magadi which offers breathtaking scenery at sunset in the shadow of the Ngurumani escarpment. The camp is about 120 km from Kenya’s capital Nairobi (about a 3-hour drive)

Lake Magadi Tented Camp had 15 tents (maximum 30 doubles or 15 singles).  The tents are self-contained and fitted with a work desk and air conditioning. The tents are self-contained; have a bed with white clean fresh bedding. All tents are fitted with air conditioners. Room service is available 24/7.

The bathrooms are en-suite with flush toilets. The walls and roofs are made of canvas. There is also a spacious campsite where guests are welcome to pitch their own tents. There is an outdoor pool where guests can take a dip on hot malady days. The onsite restaurant serves a variety of dishes both Al-carte and buffet menu. Guests enjoy their meals in the spacious dining area.  

There is a well-stocked bar that serves a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks. In the evening at Lake Magadi Tented Camp a bonfire is lit and the cool soft wind blows across this area as visitors enjoy music and dinner as well as drinks. The mining dredges on the lake also form an amazing sight at night with the lighting of the waterlines to the factory.

Lake Magadi Tented Camp activities include; Game Drives, Hot Springs Baths, Trekking and Hiking, Landscape Viewing, Star Gazing, Night Bonfire With Nyama Choma, Bird Watching & Cultural Maasai Boma Visit. One could also go hiking, guided walks, swimming, bird watching, and stargazing. Additional activities include games like chess, scrabble, and playing cards. Visit cultural Maasai homesteads, Magadi hot springs, and hot spring baths.

Enjoy swimming at Magadi Sports Club or visit Lake Natron, Shompole Conservancy, the Salt pan, and the salt factory. ​

Lake Magadi has a number of wild animals to see: the most common wildlife includes the giraffe, wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and gerenuk. Other animals can also be seen at specific times of the early morning and late evening around the lake and in the conservancy – this includes hyenas, lions, buffalos, and elephants.
