Lake Naivasha

This comprehensive 6-day Kenya road safari includes some of Kenya’s leading National Parks and Reserves. The tour begins in Nairobi and could end in Nairobi or Mombasa.

Starting with one of the most photographed parks in East Africa – Amboseli the tour continues by road to the Great Rift Valley Lakes, Naivasha and Nakuru before ending in the Masai Mara, an area renowned for its big cats.

After meeting your guide in Nairobi, you begin straight away at Amboseli National Park, located northwest of Mount Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. Amboseli is one of the most popular game parks in Kenya and covers sprawling grasslands and the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.

The park is home to some of Kenya’s largest elephant herds and is famous for its big elephant bulls with their impressive tusks. The park also contains huge populations of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions, hippos and various antelope species, such as impala.

Amboseli also boasts an abundance of birds, including bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles and falcons.

Two famous Rift Valley lakes make up the next chapter: Lake Naivasha, where there is time for a boat ride, and then onto Lake Nakuru. The Lake hosts over 400 different bird species, including many water birds.

The Lake Nakuru National Park is also known as an important wildlife sanctuary for some of Africa’s endangered species, especially black and white rhinos, and Rothschild’s giraffes. The game reserve is also home to lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons, which we keep an eye out for on our game drive.

Your safari closes with Kenya’s flagship national reserve: the Masai Mara, a scene of the dramatic Wildebeest Migration and a rewarding and exciting safari destination at any time of year.

Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see plenty of wildlife, such as Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topi, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest.

Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. You enjoy guided walks, day and night drives and the option of a hot-air balloon safari before returning by road to Nairobi.
