Amboseli National Park

This is a wonderful 6-day, 4×4 road safari that takes you to three of Kenya’s finest wildlife havens. Experience the celebrated Masai Mara National Reserve, the photogenic Amboseli National Park, and the massive Tsavo West National Park – 3 of East Africa’s top game parks.

An unforgettable journey into scenic African landscapes, hosting an incredible abundance of wildlife and birds! The tour begins in Nairobi and could end in Mombasa or back in Nairobi. You will spend 2 nights in the Masai Mara National Reserve, 2 nights in Amboseli National Park, and a night in Tsavo National Park.

The safari begins with a drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This is where it happens – one of the most spectacular wildlife shows on earth, the Great Wildebeest Migration.

The Big Five and a variety of other animals can be seen roaming on the open grasslands scattered with thorn trees. The landscape – a scene from Out of Africa, the original inhabitants – the famous Maasai warriors.

Next, we visit Amboseli National Park. This scenic park is known as one of the best places to get up close to big herds of elephants, making for amazing photos with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Amboseli Park hosts a variety of large mammals and birds.

After 2 nights in Amboseli, we drive to Tsavo West National Park. Both Tsavo East and Tsavo West combined to form one of the largest game reserves in the world, at about 22700 km².

Tsavo National Park is famous for the man-eating lions of Tsavo, which preyed on railway workers in colonial times. Tsavo West is home to Africa’s Big Five – buffaloes, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and the notorious lions – and giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, hyenas, and plenty of antelopes.

After a night in Tsavo West National Park, we drive to Mombasa or return to Nairobi. In Nairobi, you can choose between drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel.

6 Day Kenya Safari Masai Mara Amboseli & Tsavo National Park Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve

Leaving Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, this morning, our journey takes us across the stunning vistas of the Great Rift Valley and onwards to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Passing Mount Longonot and the Loita Hills, we eventually arrive at our camp/ lodge in the Masai Mara National Reserve.

After lunch, a sensational game drive is planned. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 animal species have been recorded here.

You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place.

This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.
