Located in the Northern Frontier District, the Laikipia Plateau is home to a diverse array of wildlife in some of Kenya’s most spectacular scenery.
The snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya dominate the view to the south. To the north, the terrain drops away rapidly with breathtaking views of the Samburu Game Reserve.
After your first safari game drive, return to camp for a delicious welcome dinner. Spend your first night under the stars safe and warm in superbly appointed tents, serenaded by the sounds of the African night.

Set out in safari vehicles or, for a unique perspective, explore the area on horseback.
All of the great cats and both black and white rhinos are found here, as well as elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, oryx, and dik-dik.
As you explore, your guide shares his extensive knowledge of the bush and its myriad inhabitants. Between game drives, enjoy gourmet meals, picnics, and sundowners served by your attentive camp staff.

Day 5: Laikipia Plateau – Nanyuki (Mount Kenya Safari Club)
This morning, drive up the lower slopes of Mount Kenya and visit Nanyuki Spinners & Weavers.
This women’s self-help project was started to train poor, widowed, and single women living in the surrounding villages of Nanyuki to become self-sufficient through the craft of spinning, knitting, and weaving.
Nanyuki town was targeted because it is one of the major wool-producing areas in Kenya with its weather being favorable for sheep rearing and raising.
Later, drive to the world-famous Mount Kenya Safari Club, arriving in time for lunch with the rest of the afternoon at leisure for optional activities.
Mount Kenya Safari Club is steeped in colonial history, with a past as colorful as its magnificent gardens.
Overnight Accommodation: Mount Kenya Safari Club

Day 6: Nanyuki (Mount Kenya Safari Club)
All of the amenities you would expect from a fine international establishment are here, including horseback riding, golf, croquet, a putting green, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, a beauty salon, an animal orphanage, tennis, trout streams, and more.
Fine dining, warm hospitality, and superb accommodations of suites or cottages are the hallmarks of our stay. Spend your day relaxing by the pool or take advantage of one of the many optional activities available to you.
For a wildlife experience on a smaller scale, visit the animal orphanage adjacent to the club. Enjoy an Out of Africa bush dinner by the Likii River with a display of traditional dancing (weather permitting).

Day 7: Nanyuki – Masai Mara Game Reserve
As well as wildlife, the Masai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Masai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park — moran’s (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day.
Overnight Accommodation: Kichwa Tembo Camp
Meal Plan {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}
Days 8 & 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Spend two exciting days roaming the plains on game drives, searching for the Masai Mara’s abundant game during their hours of peak activity.
Running along the Tanzanian border, the Mara forms an essential part of the Serengeti ecosystem.
Here lies the destination of the annual wildebeest migration, when multitudes of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle stampede north to graze the Mara’s lush grasses.
In the Mara River, crocodiles bask in the sun, and hippos wallow in the muddy water as monkeys frolic overhead. It seems as though the wildlife here is without limits.
Elephants roam the forest edge, giraffes survey the plains and you drive through it all in vehicles that can take you up close in comfort and safety. On your final evening in the bush, gather with your fellow travelers for a special farewell dinner.
Overnight Accommodation: Kichwa Tembo Camp
