A special way to see the headwaters at the start of the Victoria Nile. You don’t need any prior experience; we provide a FREE training/practice session, separate from safari time, before each trip. 0700 Hours: We pick you up from your hotel/residence in Kampala after breakfast and transfer you to Jinja Bujagali Falls.

0830 Hours: Arrive at the base.  After signing on, we’ll kit you out with overalls, a helmet, goggles, and either your closed footwear or our gumboots if it is very muddy.

A safety briefing session is followed by a training/practice session on our training circuits. If you have never driven a quad bike before, we’ll provide training.

0930 Hours: The morning section takes you through Kyabirwa Village and downstream along the river, past the Bujagali Dam, and out into the back of beyond.

The first section is fairly easy, giving you time to become more comfortable riding your quad bike. We follow narrow tracks that take you through the farms, forests, and villages beside the Nile.

As the trip progresses, you can build on your experience and tackle more challenging sections. For those who want to, we have some ‘play’ areas where you can let loose, and, especially on this trip, we can offer plenty of challenges on difficult terrain.

1300 Hours: Lunch at Nile River Explorers Cafe is included in the price.

1400 Hours: After lunch, we head upstream a short distance and then out into the hills of the Victoria Nile hinterland, onto special sections we use only for the full-day trip.

These sections are selected by the guide based on the weather, seasonal conditions, and your abilities or preferences.

1630 Hours: Return to base, then board our vehicle for the transfer back to Kampala.

* We suggest that you take a camera – there are many photo opportunities
* We provide you with protective clothing; overalls, helmet, goggles, and optionally boots (or your closed footwear)
* You will probably be most comfortable wearing shorts underneath the overalls and you may wish to bring bathers as there are opportunities for swimming along the way
