Matemwe Beach House Zanzibar is a private villa that consists of 2 fantastic bedrooms (both about 25 square metres) and an extra mezzanine floor with 2 single beds (over 20 square meters) located right on the long, sandy Matemwe beach, just south of Matemwe's main lodge and opposite Mnemba Island.

Matemwe Beach House Zanzibar main bedroom is en-suite while the other bedroom shares its bathroom with the mezzanine level. The private villa has its own swimming pool (20 square metres) and pool deck with views over the Indian Ocean.

Although guests will find all they need in the villa and on the private beach, the facilities of Matemwe's main lodge are accessible for Beach House guests (no kids under 6 years at Main Lodge pools allowed).

Dining can be enjoyed in the privacy of the house or in Matemwe's main lodge. The chef stops by each day to introduce special Beach House menu suggestions and the fresh catches of the day, the specialty of Matemwe's acclaimed cuisine. Massages and beauty treatments can be enjoyed in the privacy of the pool terrace or in Matemwe's main lodge.

The island offers a range of excursions such as spice tours and visits to Stone Town

or Jozani forest. Due to Matemwe's secluded location, driving time can be an hour to these locations.

Matemwe is about an hour's drive away from Stone Town and Zanzibar International airport. Transfers to/from Stone Town and Zanzibar airport can be arranged at 80 US Dollars (subject to change). Transfers to/from other locations on Zanzibar can be arranged upon request.

Matemwe Beach House Zanzibar is located in the north-east part of Zanzibar Island known as Matemwe. This area is famous for its fine white sand beaches, the contrasting colours of the Indian Ocean and the beauty of the coral reef around the Mnemba Island.

Situated slightly south of Matemwe Lodge on the beach front, Matemwe Beach House enjoys un spoilt views through palm trees of the Indian Ocean and Mnemba Island.

A short walk across the beach provides access to the main lodge should guests wish to use any of the facilities. Matemwe is just 60 minutes drive from Stone Town, allowing for easy day trips and excursions to all corners of this fascinating island.

Matemwe Beach House can sleep 6 people. Two double bedrooms are on the ground floor with a beautiful mezzanine bedroom upstairs.

The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed with a framed mosquito net and en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has twin beds and an adjoining bathroom with both bath and shower.
