Mara Kima Tented Camp Masai Mara is located near Talek Gate in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is a small friendly camp owned and managed by Astrid Clavé and Erick Letourneur farm of Muringa of Subukia. It promotes sustainable tourism.

There are 6 en-suite twin tents 20 square meters each. All tents have simple safari furniture, a veranda and a thatched root. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared from local produce, are served in the open sided dining room. The bar has a selection of‘ soft drinks, beers and wines.

Electricity is provided by solar power. The camp has implemented strict policies on waste disposal, water use and energy saving devises. The camp is often visited by monkeys, mongooses and a variety of birds; elephant and hippos sometimes make an appearance. Game drives are on offer. Cultural visits to local Maasai villages, to Talek town and to the local school are also available.

Mara Kima Tented Camp is affiliated to Subukia Bandas, on Muringa Farm, the former home of Mama Daktari, Kenya’s most famous flying doctor.

Muringa Farm offers activities such as paragliding, horse riding, camel riding, mountain biking and trekking, and also has an eco-volunteering programme. Programmes include assisting with a local orphanage, helping people with disabilities, treating domestic and wild animals and environmental conservation. Holidays combining stays at Mara Kima Camp and Subukia Bandas can be arranged.
