A
Day at Leopard Rock Lodge
When
you return from your morning game drive a sumptuous
breakfast awaits you at the Leopard Rock Lodge restaurant,
set overlooking the river. Enjoy Leopard Rock Lodge
swimming pool delicious croissants, crepes and house
jam with your coffee or tea, served in silver pots.
Or, if you decide to have your breakfast at the hippo
pool, you can observe the pool residents swimming in
the shade of palm trees, while sipping your orange juice!
After
breakfast you may want to take a dip in the pool or
sit in front of the river enjoying spectacular views
of Bisanadi Reserve and Nyambene Hills.
After
a full lunch you’ll be off on afternoon game drive
on which you can opt to visit the Rhino sanctuary, the
grave site of the famous lioness Elsa and the Borana
people living close by. Return to a lovely afternoon
tea that will see you through to dinner time. Another
highlight of the day at Leopard Rock Lodge is the sundowner,
taken on a high lookout vantage point.
To
reach the rock a ranger accompanies your walk along
the river, between palm trees, monkeys and birds. Once
you’ve climbed the rock you will be treated to
a spectacular outlook over the pristine wilderness around
you and a truly fabulous African sunset.
Leopard
Rock Lodge offers a classy 6 course dinner, which will
either be served at the glamorous open restaurant or,
if you prefer to dine al fresco, at the spot-lit swimming
pool we recommend formal dress. Apart from the open
lounge there also is a private lounge for those special
moments.
Something
else to do during your stay at Leopard Rock Lodge would
be to visit the museum and see the amazing cultural
and artists' works from the indigenous warriors - spears,
cups for drinking blood, gourds for drinking milk and
animal trophies like lion skulls and warthog tusks.
Videos about Meru National Park or George and Joy Adamson
are also shown.
Leopard
Rock Lodge is not fenced (but well protected by highly
skilled bush watchmen) and therefore open to visitors
like buffalos, elephants and other wildlife which often
come to drink at the swimming pool by night.
