Serengeti “Ikoma” Wild camp is located on the buffer zone of Serengeti eco-system between grumeti and the Ikorongo Game reserve, Northwest of Serengeti. The comfortable permanent camp consists of 10 huts/ Boma and 15 spacious tents, well furnished with en - suited bathroom.

Enjoy the stunning view over the surrounding savannah, which is full of wildlife through the year. This is located near Fort Ikoma, not far from the Grumeti River and just outside of the Serengeti National Park.

The area is part of the Grumeti Game Reserve which comes under the Tanzania National Parks authority. Looser controls permit walking in the area which is one of the attractions of the camp.

The camp itself is composed of large, permanent tents with en-suite facilities and rondavels - round huts with thatched roofs. The huts also have en-suite toilet facilities, running hot and cold water, showers and a small verandah. illuminated walk-ways link accommodation with a central area where there is a dining room and bar and a nearby "camp fire" area where it is possible to sit in the cool of the evening.

The Grumeti area lies just north of the Western Corridor. The migration passes through the area on its way north just after the long rains - between the end of May and the beginning of July. During this period thousands of Wildebeest and zebra stream through the area of the camp. Many other animals accompany them including the predators.

On their return south the migrating animals again pass near the area - this occurs between the end of October and the end of November. At other times of year a variety of animals may still be seen. At all times the Grumeti river is a bird-watchers paradise.
