Queen
Elizabeth national park is Uganda’s most scenic
and diverse park. It is also the second biggest national
park occupying close to 1,978 square kilometers. Queen
Elizabeth national park is a world biosphere reserve
with a RAMSAR wetland site.
Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to over 326
gorillas, accommodating almost a half of the world’s
population of mountain gorillas. A tour to this park
enables get up close and personal with the rare species.

Itinerary
Day
1: Kampala –
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have an early breakfast and depart from Kampala and
head Western Uganda. A brief stop at the Equator provides
an opportunity of photographing.
Continue
to the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of Kabale
District. Have lunch in Mbarara town and proceed to
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for a night.
The tarvel time from Kampala to Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest is
about 7-8 Hours.

2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Gorilla Tracking
& Cultural Entertainment)
After an early morning breakfast and guide briefing,
set off for your gorilla tracking in the forests of
Bwindi. This Park is best known for the fascinating
gorillas, where the time taken to find them and terrain
varies according to the movements of these marvelous
primates. The trekking time is unpredictable.
Though
the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unpredictable,
the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle
giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting
adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories
of a truly unique experience. The gorillas are shy and
peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience
to watch and photograph them as they play and interact.
A
packed lunch, drinking water will be carried along as
you track, comfortable boots or sturdy shoes, as well
a light rain jacket are also important due to the unpredictable
weather of Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
Walking
sticks will be available from the park rangers. For
conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas
is limited to one hour.
The
ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with
these gentle giants. In the evening, proceed to the
village for a cultural walk to interact with the local
people.
Participate
in captivating traditional performances presented by
Women’s groups or orphan children groups. Note
that the fees you pay for these performances go directly
to improve the welfare of families around the park.

3: Bwindi Morning Game Drive –
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have an early breakfast and proceed to Queen Elizabeth
National Park through Ishasha. A game drive en-route
will reward you with views of Lions, Elephants, Leopards,
Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.
Enjoy the unique evening 2-hour launch cruise on Kazinga
Channel and into Lake Edward. The travel time from Bwindi
to Queen Elizabeth is about 3 hours.
The
trip passes through the highest concentration of Hippos
and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s
edge. The launch cruise offers an excellent platform
for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The
prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well
over 550 resident species.

After a cup of African coffee or tea
, Embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi
track and Queens mile in the park and expect to see
Lions, Elephants, Cape buffalo, Warthogs, leopard, hyena,
mangoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Topi and lots of
many small animals and birds.
After the game drive,
have lunch and relax at your hotel.

5: Queen
Elizabeth National Park –
Drive to Kampala
After your breakfast you will set off
for Kampala through the beautiful Fort Portal route.
You first stop point will be Fort portal for lunch.
Fort Portal is a land of Crater lakes, hills, and irresistible
sceneries, with the giant Rwenzori Mountains evidently
punctuating the skyline’s background - the Mountains
of the moon.
You will stopover for
lunch and later on proceed to Entebbe arriving in the
evening to catch an evening flight.
Travel time from Queen Elizabeth to Kampala is about
7-9 Hours.
