3 Days/ 2 Nights Bwindi Forest National Park Safari is a Gorilla trekking holiday. This is the main activity in Bwindi to the 4 Gorilla families of gorilla beringei. Bwindi National Park gorillas are organized now in four groups that can be visited by guests.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants.

More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes.

There are around 350 species of birds hosted in this forest, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics. Monkey i.e. Hoest’s, red-tailed and blue monkey, black and White Colobus, Olive Baboon.

Over 346 species of birds registered (Bwindi has 90% of all Albertine Rift endemics. 200 of Butterflies. Mammals i.e. Buffaloes, Leopards, Elephants and many more.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park
Depart from Kampala early morning and proceed south-western part of the country via Kampala-Masaka road with a stopover at the Equator for photos and water experiment.

Thereafter proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns arriving at Park in the evening.

Enter the park through Ndego gate and make your way to Buhoma park headquarters through Buhoma gate. The driving time is about 10 – 11 Hours / 534 Kilometers.

Overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas/ Buhoma Community Rest Camp/ Engagi Lodge

Day 2: Bwindi Forest National Park Gorilla Trekking
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by gorilla tracking. in the jungle. Tracking gorillas through the impenetrable forest requires patience, endurance and sometimes walking for long hours in the mid and rainy jungle.

Time and the terrain taken vary with the gorilla movements. Coming face to face with man’s shy “cousins” in the jungle is an inspiring moment. Carry with you bags full of bottles of water and parked lunch.

Day 3: Bwindi Forest National Park – Drive to Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. Continue via Masaka with a stopover at Mpambire drum making place if time allows. Head straight reaching Kampala in the evening.
