3 Days/ 2 Night Saadani National Park Flying Safari wings you to Saadani National Park in the centre of the historic triangle of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar. The park covers 1100 kilometers square and is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the sea.

Depending on the time of year guests visit Saadani National park they will see different wildlife activity. Between December and March there is increasing activity around the waterholes because of the recent short rains.

From June to September it is the coolest time of the year when it is best for spotting hippo and crocodile in the bordering Wami River. Forest walk and game drives are full of wildlife activity at this time of year.

Buffalo are predominantly visible in October and November and the migratory birds start to arrive. This is also when the flowers start to grow in the parched landscape after some light rains.

Day 1: Zanzibar – Fly to Saadani National Park

Early in the morning after your breakfast at the hotel you will get a briefing from your drive guide about safari. Depart 0945 Hours from Zanzibar directly to Saadani arrival at 1000 Hours, meet and greet then head to Wami River for a boat trip having a chance to see many wild animals along the river drinking water not forgetting giant crocodile and many birds species.

Lunch at the river or Saadani Village followed by an afternoon game drive in the park where you have having chances to see Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Waterbuck, Lions, Leopards, Hyenas and many more.

Overnight Tent with a view or Tembo Kijani or Tanapa Cottages.

Day 2: Explore Saadani National Park
Early morning game drive in Saadani National Park and thereafter return to the lodge for breakfast. The park has a large population of hippos, crocodiles, flamingoes, and many large bird species. Giraffe and wildebeest can be spotted and elephants have been seen playing on the beach.

Lighten up for the rest of the morning and have luxurious lunch at lodge. In the afternoon enjoy a boat safari in Wami River if you did not have one yesterday which offers probably the best boat safari in Tanzania; the river safari passes flocks of flamingoes at the mouth of the estuary before entering the river with its abundant wildlife and profusion of bird life. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Saadani National Park – Fly to Zanzibar

The day will be spent on a game drive in the morning and afternoon on a foot-walking safari with unique experience of tracking giraffe through prime bush before returning back to the Lodge for lunch.

Afternoon at leisure as we wait our time to catch the flight back to Zanzibar at 1745 Hours arrival at 1800 Hours. Upon arrival in Zanzibar Airport, transfer to your residence.
