2 Days/ 1 Night Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary Safari is a short overnight trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary located 23 kilometers offshore from Entebbe.

The Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT) was established in 1998 to support the welfare of orphaned rescued Chimpanzees at Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Lake Victoria. Today Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary cares for about 48 orphaned chimpanzees.

The Sanctuary's 100 acre forested island provides a safe haven for orphaned chimpanzees that are now free to roam their island thanks to project leaders Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) and other concerned organizations who raised funds for the project.

It offers a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment. Pre-arranged supplementary feeding times (1100 Hours & 1300 Hours each day) brings the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway specially designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Ngamba Island

This morning depart Kampala after breakfast and drive Entebbe pier. At 0900 Hours aboard a boat for 45 across to Ngamba Island Chimp Sanctuary.

Upon arrival a short introduction/ briefing of the sanctuary and its work will be offered the little later it will be time for feeding the chimps. It is very exciting to see the Chimps during feeding time as you will observe different characters some whistling for food and others clapping.

Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the fresh breeze. Dinner and over night at Ngamba island sanctuary camp.

Day 2: Ngamba Island – Drive to Kampala
Breakfast at the lodge then depart for a forest walk where you will interact will the juvenile chimps aged between 4-7 years old. During the forest walk they may jump or climb you for a ride, so be ready for the excitement.

Later you will board your boat for a ride back to the mainland where you will meet your guide for your drive back to Kampala.
