Lake Naivasha is a picnic and camping spot and a bird watcher’s paradise. During your safari, you will have a chance to visit Hell's Gate National Park which has over 100 species of birds including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts.

African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope and Chanler's mountain reedbuck... You will travel with an experienced tour driver/ guide in a private safari vehicle and stay in a camp/ lodge.

You will also visit Crescent Island Game Park a peninsular and is accessible by boat from East or West as well as by road for guided walk amongst animals. Day 1: Nairobi – Hell’s Gate National Park – Lake Naivasha

0630 Hours: After breakfast depart Nairobi by road to Hell's Gate National Park. Arrive at Hell's Gate National Park after an hour’s drive. Once at the Park, you have the option of a game drive in a Safari vehicle or take bikes into the Park. Cycling in the Park is a great adventure as you get to ride the bikes for 7 Kilometers before resting at a ranger's post.

After a brief stop at the rangers post you leave the bike and start a walking safari. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge. The walking trip or safari takes 3 hours. The park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of the only two Kenyan Parks where climbing, walking and biking are allowed.

Animals seen here include Bushbucks, Dikdiks, Gazelles, Gnus, Hartebeests, Impalas, Klipspringers, Buffaloes, Hyraxes, Zebras, Hyenas, Jackals, Mongooses, Baboons, Monkeys and Porcupines amongst others.

The park has historically been an important home for the rare lammergeyer vultures. over 103 species of birds have been recorded in this park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles.

Lunch at the lodge then spend the afternoon enjoying various activities available at the camp/ Lodge such as swimming, walking, horse riding or cycling at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Kiangazi, Carnelleys or Fishermans Camp etc.

Day 2 : Crescent Island Visit – Nairobi

Breakfast then visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary - a peninsula or island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. A short boat trip from the mainland out into Lake Naivasha gives you access to the unique Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary.

There is also possibility to access it by road passing through the "Horse Riding Complex" A wide variety of wildlife, bird life and flora lives quite freely out there and as there are no predators to be found, quite happily as well.

There is a lot of easy to see game e.g. giraffes, waterbucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras and impalas. It is also a heaven for birds with + 200 species recorded. The lake has a lot of hippos, which you can easily spot from the island.

Among the resident birds are fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes and a variety of herons. Hippos also live in the lake. A number of mammals can be seen grazing in the surrounding lake environs, such as zebra, impala, buffalo, giraffe, Kongoni and, at night, hippos. Return back to Nairobi in the evening.
