Mikes Camp Kiwayu Island Lamu Archipelago formerly known as Munira Island Camp is located on Kiwayu Island, one of the many unspoiled idyllic islands of the Lamu archipelago.

Kiwayu is situated 40 kilometers north of Lamu, off Kenya’s remote north coast. The camp sits on top of the dunes with amazing views and access to both the creek and ocean.

Kiwayu is an hour and a half by speed boat from Lamu town or 6 hours by dhow.

There are 7 comfortable and spacious bandas (rooms) under the tortilis trees which comfortably accommodate 18 guests.

Each banda is has its own character and is built of Makuti and Jambies (local matting made from palm fronds).

The bandas feature mosquito nets, seating areas, verandahs, wardrobes, hammocks and day beds on the porch.

The bathrooms are en-suite with hand painted bucket shower and flushing toilets. A variety of local and international dishes are served in the camp.

Most meals consist of the freshest of fish and shellfish you will ever eat, sourced from the local fishermen. Guests enjoy their meals at picnics,  beach hut or in alfresco under the stars.

The sunset bar is a perfect place for unwinding over an ice cold Tusker beer or fresh fruit cocktail. Yoga mikes camp has a calling for yoga enthusiasts.

The classes are taken on the beach, in the bandas, on the hills or on the creek jetty all surrounded in an abundance of beauty and calm.
