2 Days 1 Night Zanzibar Island Fly-in holiday from Nairobi is a short beach holiday to Zanzibar Island. Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean, about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast, and 6° south of the equator. The City of Zanzibar is situated on the most significant island called Unguja.

Zanzibar Island (known locally as Unguja, but as Zanzibar internationally) is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide, occupying a total area of approximately 650 square miles. It is characterized by beautiful sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs, and the magic of historic Stone Town – said to be the only functioning ancient town in East Africa.

Our short fly-in holiday allows you to choose how much or how little you want to do in Zanzibar.  This short Zanzibar Beach Resort Holiday starts with a flight from Nairobi to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at the international airport near Zanzibar City, your driver greets you and transfers you to your idyllic Zanzibar beach resort.

Arriving at the beach resort it’s time to kick off your shoes and get into the holiday mood. Settle into your spacious, en-suite chalet with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The beach resort caters to all tastes with watersports, land-based activities, and plenty of amenities. (Note: activities are at extra cost)

You can catch an evening walk on the beach and maybe swim in the Indian Ocean or even unwind at the resort’s pool and lounge bars or retire to your comfortable room.

On day 2, after breakfast, you could choose to see more of Zanzibar Island by taking a spice tour or visit The old quarter of Zanzibar City, called Stone Town, which is well worth a visit too. Day 1: Nairobi or Mombasa – Fly to Zanzibar Island

Pick up and transfer to the airport from the hotel in Nairobi for the flight to Zanzibar, departing in the afternoon/ evening. The flight takes approximately one hour. Upon arrival, our driver is at the airport to greet you when you arrive at Zanzibar, Tanzania’s famous tropical island getaway. From the airport, you are transferred to your idyllic Zanzibar beach resort.

Arriving at the beach resort it’s time to kick off your shoes and get into the holiday mood. Settle into your spacious, room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Then head to the white-sand beach for a stroll and a swim in the Indian Ocean or take a dip in the large pool at the resort.

In the evenings, dine at the beach resort to the sounds of the resident band, in tropical island style. Then you can unwind at the resort’s pool and lounge bars or retire to your comfortable room.

Day 2: Zanzibar Island – Fly to Nairobi

After breakfast, you are free to enjoy the exotic Spice Island as you, please. You could choose watersports such as sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing, as well as dolphin cruises and boat trips. On dry land, the resort offers a fitness center, beach volleyball, billiards, and table tennis.

If that’s all too energetic for you visit the spa or laze on the deck chairs around the pool, soaking up some rays. If you would like to see more of Zanzibar Island, you can book a tour through the hotel concierge. A spice tour is recommended and will saturate your senses with amazing aromas which confirm why Zanzibar is known as Spice Island.

The old quarter of Zanzibar City, called Stone Town, is well worth a visit too. Explore this historic town of winding alleys, a bustling market, fascinating architecture, and beautifully carved and decorated doors to discover more about the island’s fascinating history.

Stone Town City Tour by Foot

A walking tour that takes you through Stone town visiting the House of Wonders, Arab Fort, Zanzibar’s bustling market, cathedrals, mosques, and gift shops. This half-day can be combined with the Spice Tour to make a full-day tour.


Spice Tour Half-Day Trip

This is a guided walking tour to learn about Zanzibar spices which are an essential ingredient in Zanzibar’s everyday life. A walk through villages and spice plantations enables you to see spice farm workers climb trees, seek out specific plants, and cuts off various barks, letting you see, feel and taste everything.

The tour includes a traditional Swahili lunch. Buy fresh spices while visiting the spice farms.


Chumbe Island Coral Park (CHICOP)

Deep Sea Fishing

The spice island of Zanzibar is home to some of the best big game and deep-sea fishing opportunities in the Indian Ocean. This deep sea fishing in Zanzibar is located at the northern tip of Nungwi, a fishing village, which is the fishing grounds of Zanzibar.

We fish by trolling a combination of lures or natural dead baits (Ballyhoo or strips) or live bait. The boats are available for Half Day or Full Day charters.


Jozani Forest Tour

This forest is one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the red colobus monkey. At Jozani, you will also visit the Mangrove swamp and walk around the Mangrove forest. Jozani has an excellent nature trail and the guides are well-trained and informative.

A walk through this impressive flora and fauna is one of the highlights Zanzibar has to offer.  It is easy to combine this trip with the Jambiani Village Tour or the Spice Tour.


Sandbank Picnic

Full-day dhow excursion which includes sailing, snorkeling, and swimming. The tour departs Stone town and sails to Bawe Island for snorkeling with a guide to see the stunning array of colored corals and tropical fish of the islands. Then sail to a sandbank for lunch. Afterward, relax and swim around the sand bank before sailing back to Stone Town.

This tour departs at 0900 Hours and returns back at 1500 Hours.


Unguja Ukuu Boat Trip

Unguja Ukuu is the name of the village, for now, a place where Zanzibar’s tourists rarely if ever set foot. This boat trip begins in Unguja Ukuu village, far off the tourists tracks visiting uninhabited islands, Miwi and Nianembe or Kwale in the protected Menai Bay, to see the unique flora and fauna of Zanzibar’s tropical islands.

The boat ride is 45 minutes from the beach. You stand some chance of spotting dolphins here – but not guaranteed. The trip includes sunbathing, beach relaxation, swimming, and snorkeling.


Prison Island Half-Day Boat Trip

This tour offers you the opportunity to visit a former prison for slaves and a quarantine station for Zanzibar and the mainland. It is also a great way to see wildlife and learn some history, and also see Stone Town from the sea as many old maritime legends would have done.

Once on the island, you have the opportunity to feed and pet the tortoises, if you have time you may also like to take a stroll through the forested interior where you will see a wide variety of birds, colorful peacocks, bats, and beautiful butterflies.
