4 Days/ 3 Nights Tsavo West National Park & Amboseli National Park is an ideal vacation for families Honeymoon couples, friends and also as a private safari. The park is located on south eastern Kenya, 240km from Mombasa along the western side of Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

 

Attractions in the park include the lush, hippo-heaving pools of Mzima Springs, fed daily by 250 million liters of water gushing from the Chyulu Hills. The Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary is a 70 square Kilometers fenced area where Tsavo’s growing population of endangered black rhino are inching their way back from the chasm of extinction that was forced upon them by rampant poaching in the 1960’s.

 

Major wildlife attractions in Tsavo West National Park include vast herds of dust-red elephant, rhino, fat pods of hippo, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, serval cat, caracal diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

 

Among the less common animals to be found are the fringed-eared Oryx, the gerenuk and lesser kudu. The carnivores in addition to lion include.

 

Amboseli National Park lies immediately North West of Mt. Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. Amboseli National Park is famous for its tranquil beauty that allows fabulous wildlife viewing, photography and easy approachable wildlife.

 

Some of the common animals you might see are large families of elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, gazelles, hyenas, giraffes, cheetahs, monkeys, baboon, hippos and prolific birdlife up to approximately 425 species.

Day 1 : Mombasa North or South Coast Beach Hotel – Tsavo West National Park
(240 Kilometers, Approximately 5 hours Drive)

4 Days/ 3 Nights Tsavo West National Park & Amboseli National Park Safari begins from Mombasa beach or Mombasa town hotels. We start early on our safari journey via the Nairobi - Mombasa highway.

 

There will be a stopover en-route for bathroom facilities and refreshments. We enter Tsavo West National Park mid-morning and commence game viewing en-route to our accommodations.

 

After check-in, we freshen up and settle for a buffet lunch. We will proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive with a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary. We return to our Lodge/ Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park – Drive to Amboseli National Park
(140 kilometers, Approximately 3 Hours Drive)

"The early bird catches the worm!" We test this old adage by embarking on an early pre-breakfast game and scenery viewing drive. Sunrise catches us with its splendor as the drama of the wild unfolds amid the freshness and beauty of the morning. We spectacle as the grazers and hunters move on unperturbed by our presence.

 

We will head to the Mzima Springs where we view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of bird species. The greenery surrounding the springs is a welcome contrast to the harsh terrain that forms the bulk of Tsavo West.

 

We will be back to our base for breakfast before joining our convoy on the onward journey to the Amboseli. The 140 km's journey will be through jungle to arrive at our base in Amboseli in time for lunch.

 

We freshen up, enjoy a buffet lunch and while away until late afternoon when we set out to explore the Amboseli. Afternoon safari drive is planned. Kilimanjaro provides a great back-drop for photography.

 

Clouds may open up and the sight of the snow peaked Mt. Kilimanjaro will leave us mesmerized.

Day 3: Explore Amboseli National Park

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for another stimulating ‘Spice’ game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons.

 

The great diversity of Amboseli wildlife is also evident here—look for buffalo, hippopotamus, elephant, giraffe, antelope, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelle, lions, and in season the spectacular migration of the wildebeest and Zebra. In late afternoon we venture out in another game drive.

Day 4 : Amboseli National Park – Drive to Mombasa
Today you have the choice of sleeping or taking a morning game drive. After breakfast we depart by road for our return journey back to Mombasa arriving late in the afternoon.
