Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1

Mombasa North or South Coast Beach Hotel – Tsavo West National Park
(240 kilometers, Approximately 5 hours Drive)

Our 4 Days 3 Nights Kenya coast Tsavo West and Amboseli road Safari commences from our coast beach or Mombasa town hotels. We start early on our safari journey via the Nairobi - Mombasa highway. There will be a stop over en-route for breakfast and refreshments. We enter Tsavo West National Park mid-morning and commence game viewing en-route to our accommodations. After check-in, we freshen up and settle for a buffet lunch. We will proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive with a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary. We return to our Lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National Park
(140 kilometers, Approximately 3 hours Drive)

"The early bird catches the worm!" We test this old adage by embarking on an early pre-breakfast game and scenery viewing drive. Sunrise catches us with it's splendor as the drama of the wild unfolds amid the freshness and beauty of the morning. We spectacle as the grazers and hunters move on unperturbed by our presence. We will head to the Mzima Springs where we view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of bird species. The greenery surrounding the springs is a welcome contrast to the harsh terrain that forms the bulk of Tsavo West.

 

We will be back to our base for breakfast before joining our convoy on the onward journey to the Amboseli. The 140 km's journey will be through jungle to arrive at our base in Amboseli in time for lunch. We will freshen up, enjoy our buffet lunch and while it away until late afternoon when we set out to explore the Amboseli. Afternoon game viewing drive in this open park. It is a leisurely activity with game easily seen and with the bulk of Kilimanjaro providing the back-drop for photography. Clouds may open up and the sight of the snow peaked Mt. Kilimanjaro will leave us mesmerized.

Day 3

Amboseli National Park

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for another stimulating ‘Spice’ game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons. The great diversity of Amboseli wildlife is also evident here—look for buffalo, hippopotamus, elephant, giraffe, antelope, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelle, lions, and in season the spectacular migration of the wildebeest and Zebra. In late afternoon we venture out in another game drive.

Day 4

Amboseli National Park – Mombasa
Today you have the choice of sleeping or taking a morning game drive. After breakfast we depart by road for our return journey back to Mombasa arriving late in the afternoon.
