Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Arusha Town – Tarangire National Park
Today we drive from Arusha, Tanzania, to Tarangire National Park for lunch. With a permanent water source, the park is virtually guaranteed enormous herds and excellent game viewing including cheetah, lion (some tree-climbing!), leopard and hyena and a herd of 3,500 elephants. The park is also host to a number of rare species including eland, oryx, kudu and gerenuk. Our accommodations are at Tarangire Sopa Lodge, a tranquil oasis overlooking the rolling plains.

Day 2
Tarangire National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Park that offers wonderful panoramas of wide savannah grasslands dotted with open acacia woodland studded with large Baobab trees. Elephants can be seen in herds of up to 600 at a time, along with masses of wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo and oryx, who, migrate from the dry Masai steppe to the gleaming Tarangire River in search of water during the dry season. 550 species of birds have been recorded here. Also the park has Tree climbing pythons.

Tarangire National Park – Arusha Town

After breakfast depart by road back to Arusha arriving lunch hours.
