Day 1 - Nairobi - Zanzibar
Breakfast in Nairobi , and we're off on a flight to paradise. Your hotel, either the Zanzibar Serena or the Blue Bay Resort, waits quietly in the sun, absorbing its rays as they reflect off the adjacent sea. These hotels, specially selected for their exceptionality, immerse the traveler in the romantic atmosphere of centuries gone by. The perfumed air caresses you with the scents of all the spices that have grown in abundance throughout the island since time began.

Day 2 - Old Town and Spice Plantations
The morning begins with a sumptuous breakfast as you gaze over the Indian Ocean to the endless horizon. A walking tour is the only way to truly experience the town, which exists today much as it did in the years when Zanzibar , the Isle of Spices, was a great trading centre known the world over for spices, timber and slaves. The marketplace is alive with vendors who hawk their exotic wares in a multitude of languages, as many as the intense palate of colours which mark their fabrics, their spices, their intricately carved wood and other goods for sale.

As you move away from the raucous market, the winding streets grow serene and mysterious, with their whitewashed houses and ornately carved wooden doors and balconies studded with brass. You will visit the Zanzibar Museum and the Old Fort. Lunch, relaxed and oh-so-luscious, and we proceed to spend the afternoon touring the plantations on the outskirts of town where cinnamon, cardamon and strong, flavorful Arabic coffees are grown. And, of course, we see the cloves, the gold of Zanzibar , the world's finest and most desired spice, grown here in the very centre of the Spice Islands .

Day 3 - Jozani Forest
There is only one place in the world where you will find the red Colobus monkey-and this morning you travel across the island through quaint villages and lush vegetation to this place-the enchanting Jozani Forest. The forest is mesmerizing- you will feel yourself absorbed into another world, a place like no other on earth.

Day 4 - Zanzibar - Nairobi
Today brings a farewell to the island. Depending upon your flight time, which-being in a splendidly far flung outpost of civilization after all-can sometimes be early, perhaps you'll make one last trip to the marketplace for that fantastically carved teakwood chest or supply of intensely scented clove pomanders-a heady reminder of your sojourn in this ageless Swahili paradise.
