Serena Mountain Lodge is located in Mount Kenya National Park & Forest Reserve. It lies on the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Park is only a two and a half hour's drive from Nairobi. Apart from the Big Five, the bird life is prolific. At the height of 7,200 ft., on the slopes of Mount Kenya, is Mountain Lodge.

Serena Mountain Lodge has open-air viewing-deck that looks down on to its own water hole and salt-lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo. There is also a tunnel leading to a photo-hide, which offers spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities just metres away from the wildlife at the water hole.

Serena Mountain Lodge timber-built, cabin-styled room has its own luxury en suite bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the water hole. The décor, which echoes the Kikuyu culture, features hand-woven wall hangings, soft lighting and cozily-warm soft furnishings.

Hot-water bottles are provided at night. Smoking is not permitted within the lodge, due to the fact that it is of timber construction but a smoker's area is provided on the roof-top terrace. All Serena Mountain Lodge rooms offer:

Serena Mountain Lodge; Serena Mountain Tree Lodge central dining room is raised to tree level offering long views over the forest canopy. All meals are served on a buffet basis and showcase both local and international cuisine.

Breakfast and lunch are presented in table d'hôte where hot meals are served from the kitchen and feature a wide range of international choices. In typical safari style, we offer a ‘full English Breakfast' as well as European options while our lunch menus will typically include meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options.

Serena Mountain Lodge table d'hôte dinner menus feature a salad buffet, soup, entrée, pudding, cheese and biscuits and tea or coffee.

Vegetarian options are always available. The majority of our meat and dairy products, as well as the fruits and vegetables are sourced from the communities that surround the mountain.
