Aberdare Mountains in Central Kenya. Sangare Tented
Camp is located approximately 166 Kilometers North
of Nairobi, 27 Kilometers from Nyeri town and 50 Kilometers
from Nanyuki. By Air from Nairobi to Nanyuki Airstrip
and transfer to Sangare Tented Camp takes –
approximately 1 Hour.
Flight from Nairobi to Mweiga Airstrip and a transfer
to Sangare Tented Camp takes – approximately
45 Minutes. By
road with a Safari van up to Green Hills Hotel in
Nyeri – approximately 166 Kilometers
– 2 ½ Hours. Transfer to Sangare Tented

Tented Camp is located approximately
166 km north of Nairobi, 27 km from Nyeri town and 50
km from Nanyuki on Sangare Game Conservancy, a 6,500
acre property at an altitude of 2000 meter in the foothills
of the Aberdares National Park. Sangare Tented Camp
has spectacular views of Mount Kenya. Sangare Tented
Camp
is situated in the Aberdare's most exquisite settings
that overlook a magnificent fresh water lake against
the backdrop of Sangare hill. The spectacular views
across the vast savannah make Sangare one of the richest
private wildlife sanctuaries. The terrain hosts elephants,
buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, warthogs
amongst many others.
Overlooking a magnificent lake against the backdrop
of Sangare hill, stand out 12 luxurious Sangare tents.
The tents are spacious, providing utmost comfort and
relaxation and tastefully furnished with 4 Poster beds
and African rustic furniture. All tents have a private
romantic verandah with a cozy lounge overlooking the
stunning natural lake, ‘Sangare’. Every

has a modern en suite bathroom with flush toilet and
shower. When opened, each tent is specially designed
to give you the most breathtaking view of the early
morning sunrise against the lake. The tents are either
twin with two queen size beds or double with a 4 Poster
King size bed. The main lounge and dining area consists
of a high thatch roof, the ridge-lines of which emulate
Mount Sangare, over which it looks. Drinks and snacks
are available in our lounge throughout the day. After
a long eventful day, what better way to unwind than
to take a few drinks by the ‘bone fire’
Sangare
Game Conservancy is a 6500 acre private wildlife
conservancy sandwiched between the Aberdares and Mt.
Kenya. The Conservancy habitat is open savannah where
we will find many of the plains game such as zebra,
giraffe, antelope, warthog, leopard, hyenas, elephants
and buffalo. Bird life in Sangare is rich with + 300
bird species recorded. Activities include soft game
viewing walks & vehicle game drives.

the activity you want and best of all YOU set the pace.
You could start with a game drive – to look for
big game, then a guided walk in the open fields looking
for antelopes, zebras and of course various birds. Come
back for lunch and in the afternoon you may switch off
at the veranda of your tent just enjoying the tranquility
of the place. Rested enough? Wind up the day with another
guided walk or a game drive.

Enjoy a superb game drive in the wild vast
plains of Sangare Game Conservancy as you
admire the different species of animals,
including giraffes, elephants, leopards,
zebras, buffalos, antelopes, zebroids amongst

The ultimate African experience is enjoying
a night game drive at Sangare Game Conservancy
watching the entire galaxy, identifying
stars and spotting the nocturnal animals.

National Park Game drive
A game drive in the Aberdare Park is an
ideal way to spend an afternoon. A short
drive away, the Aberdare Park offers lovely
Afro Alpine Moorlands. Hopefully you will
see elephants, rhinos, buffalos and other
plains in this park. Visit the famous Queen
Elizabeth picnic site.

rhino during your game drive in the beautiful
vast savannah of the Solio Game Reserve.
