SAMBURU – NAKURU (4
DAYS / 3 NIGHTS)Day 1 Nairobi –
Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the Morning by road to Samburu Game
Reserve located at the North rugged Semi desert region.
Samburu Game Reserve is a wild and little visited
region, well known for spectacular scenery and wildlife
not found in the south: Reticulated Giraffe , the
rare Grevy’s Zebra with its large furry ears,
the Gerenuk antelope standing on its hind legs to
feed, and Somali Ostriches with their distinctive
blue legs. Lunch upon arrival at your lodge then proceed
on a ‘Spice’ game drive. Dinner and overnight
at Samburu Serena/Samburu Lodge /Sarova Shaba Lodge.

Day 2 Explore Samburu
Full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon ‘Spice’
game drives. You may see Elephant, Cheetah, Leopard,
Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety
of birds. This lava plain includes a varied landscape
of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried
riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. Following
the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms,
Acacia and tamarind is a magical contrast of cool
green. Other areas of the Reserve include the Uaso
Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on
the banks. It also provides an oasis for a variety
of game. Birds are abundant, with 365 species recorded,
one for every day of the year. In between the game
drives, there is an opportunity to visit a Samburu
village at an additional cost. Meals and overnight
at Samburu Serena/Samburu Lodge /Sarova Shaba Lodge.

Day 3 Samburu – Nakuru
Depart after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru
National Park arriving in time for lunch at Sarova
Lion Hill Lodge/Lake Nakuru Lodge. Relax before departing
for an afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive.
Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's
and the over 400 species of birds found here. The
lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift
valley. The sight of millions of flamingos is quite
spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed
in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as
an important haven for endangered species- particularly
the Rothschild Giraffe and the Black and white Rhino.
Lions, Waterbuck, Buffalo and Baboons are all residents
here. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge/Lake

Day 4 Nakuru – Nairobi
After breakfast, proceed for a ‘Spice’
game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The Park
has a fantastic array of bird life, which includes
flamingos, white pelicans, Marabou stock and all water
birds. You may also spot white rhino, Rothschild giraffe
and baboons on the cliff. Depart for Nairobi to arrive
early in the afternoon.
