Sala's
Camp; Sala's Camp is located on the convergence
of two rivers in the Southern Masai Mara Reserve, overlooking
the northern Serengeti in Kenya.
Owned
and managed by Mikey & Tanya Carr-Hartley, who have
been operating luxury mobile safaris for twelve years,
the camp is simple but comfortably furnished and boasts
a location that makes it both secluded but accessible
for the dense game areas of the southern Mara.
The
Mara is the most famous and most visited reserve in
Kenya, an area of savannah and grassland, approximately
1510 square Kilometers, at an altitude of 5000 feet.
The
Wildebeest Migration: from July –
September, over a million wildebeest pour into the Masai
Mara’s lush grasslands from the Serengeti. Sala’s
Camp is very well located for the migration. Game
viewing is exceptional: dramatic river crossings, and
plentiful predators.
Being
in a pristine wilderness area with prolific wildlife,
Sala’s Camp is situated in the centre of the Wildebeest
migration routes. Sala’s camp is nestled in a
shaded forest facing southwards into the Northern Serengeti
and Tanzania beyond.
Sala's
Camp accommodates a maximum of 14 guests in six spacious
double tents and one honeymoon tent. These en-suite
tents are comfortable and romantic, offering running
hot water, lighting and flushing toilets. The mess tent
provides access to charging points for cameras and other
electronic equipment.
