On
this page we offer some exciting Tanzania Safari activities
that can be incorporated into your safari while others
- usually lasting a day or longer - can be added on
at the beginning or end (or occasionally in the middle)
of your safari. Many of you request some walking
or hiking, and while we believe this
is one of the best ways to explore the wild places in
Africa, there are certain restrictions.
In
some parks in Tanzania, walking is not allowed, while
in other areas, the costs are high. So while we include
short optional walks (from one to four hours) as an
integral part of our safari at some destinations, at
others we suggest them to you here as an extra activity
or as longer add-ons at the beginning or end, or even
in the middle of your safari. Please note, also, that
hiking is an important part or your only means of transport
in some national parks, Selous, Gombe, Mahale, Katavi,
Rubondo Island and above all Mt Kilimanjaro. Please
note that prices of these activities are per person.

Tanzania
Village Cultural Safari - Masai
There
are several opportunities to meet the various
cultural communities that exist in Africa,
to see their ways of life, to interact/ask
questions and learn from them. Some are more
authentic than others. Revenue generated from
your stay is plowed back into the community
and into the conservation of the land and
its habitats. There are several projects in
the works including: school projects, water
supply and mobile medical clinics. Many traditional
African communities understand that future
of the culture, community, rites, traditions
and rituals can only be preserved if they
fully participate and take charge. There are
also several specific opportunities to spend
additional time volunteering after your Africa
safari at the various communities, helping
out in the schools and hospitals.
