The eco-friendly Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara has no permanent construction and is situated along the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river with permanent hippo pools near camp. With 10 guest tents the camp is very exclusive and giving you a real in the bush experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private ‘space’ for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness. Each tent has en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara food is excellent with fresh baked bread and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.

Porini Lion Camp is located in the exclusive 20,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy. This expansive conservancy, which borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve, is home to an abundance of animals including the Big Cats for which the Mara is famous. The camp is situated only a few kilometers from the Mara Game Reserve and a 30-minute drive from the Talek Gate. The Ol Kiombo airstrip used by the daily scheduled flights to Mara from Nairobi is a short 25-minute drive from camp.

Porini Lion Camp Experience

Qualified safari guides enhance the experience by educating the guests about the flora, fauna and people of the surrounding areas. Guests are taken on day and night game drives in our custom built open-sided 4x4’s. In the evening they are taken to a scenic spot, to enjoy a drink while watching the sun go down. A night game drive is taken on the way back to camp, giving guests the opportunity to see many of the elusive nocturnal animals. Masai warriors escort guests on a walk in the conservancy where they can learn about how the various indigenous animals and plants are used by the community and how their way of life is intertwined with their surroundings. The new Porini Lion Camp, located in the vast 20,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy is the ideal base from which to experience the million strong wildebeest migration.
