Offbeat Mara Camp; Offbeat Mara Camp small and exclusive seasonal tented camp located on the Olare Orok River on Koyiaki Group Ranch. It is tucked away in a prime wildlife area far from other lodges and camps. They aim to provide guests with great game viewing, away from the masses.

Offbeat Mara Camp works closely with the local Masai community, with many working as camp staff and guides. The camp is discreetly located in an area of thick bush, allowing a high degree of privacy for each traditional-style safari tent.

Offbeat Mara Camp is one of the many camps located in Koyiaki Group Ranch. Other camps within this area include Kicheche Mara Camp, Ol Seki Mara Camp, Richards Camp and Elephant Pepper Camp and are all within relatively easy reach of the main Masai Mara National Reserve.

Offbeat Mara Camp sleeps 12 guests in 6 large luxury tents - 3 doubles and 3 twins (an extra bed can be added to each tent for small children). Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot bucket showers, wash basins and flush toilets.

The spacious tents are all furnished with large, handmade cedar beds, 24 hour solar lighting and the finest linen. Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or around the campfire. Delicious English breakfasts, light lunches and four course dinners are served each evening.

Offbeat Mara Camp guests can relax in the bar and mess tent, furnished with comfortable sofas, a writing desk and library with wildlife guide books.

Offbeat Mara Camp is in a prime position not far from the Masai Mara and enjoys excellent game viewing throughout the year. Unfenced, the Masai Mara borders the Ngama Hills in the east and the Olooloo or Siria Escarpment in the west.

Gazelle, wildebeest and zebra graze in large numbers and where prey is found so are predators. Lion, cheetah, elephant, kongoni, topi, Thompson' s gazelle, waterbuck, hyena and the primates can also be found roaming the Masai Mara.

Offbeat Mara Camp situation in the heart of the greater Mara area gives it good access to this diverse area where the migrating herds and resident game are free to roam.

Offbeat Mara Camp started its life as a base for horse-riding safaris and its location outside Masai Mara Game Reserve chosen so that a wide variety of activities could be offered while still being able to enjoy the famous wildlife experience that is the Mara ecosystem.

The Great Migration takes place between Kenya' s Masai Mara and Tanzania' s Serengeti National Park, and is the greatest wildlife spectacle on the plant. Thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate between the Serengeti and Masai Mara, constantly searching for fresh grazing.

The massive herds are closely followed by predators making the most of every opportunity to catch their next meal.
