Mount Kenya Safari Club has 120 guest rooms spread out in the delightful grounds and comprising of Fairmont and Deluxe rooms, Suites, and Cottages.

All rooms feature fire place, in room safe, a fully stocked mini-bar, tea and coffee facilities, separate WC and rain shower.

The Suites have mainly king-bedded room, with fireplace, one sitting room, private veranda or balcony overlooking the river and Mount Kenya, and a four piece spacious bathroom with rain shower and bath.

Suites are located in the Garden Suites, William Holden Cottages and Riverside Cottages as well as in the Manor and the main building. Long trousers are mandatory for dinner. Special early supper can be served in the main dining room for children under 12 years old, and children are not allowed in the public areas after 9:30 p.m.

Mount Kenya Safari Club has a large outdoor heated swimming pool facing Mount Kenya peaks, manned by a pool attendant from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The surrounds of the pool are an ideal venue for cocktail parties for 15 to 500 persons.

Mount Kenya Safari Club Rose Gardens Animal Orphanage

Mount Kenya Safari Club Animal Orphanage managed by the neighboring ranch and the William Holden Foundation is operated as a non-profit organization focusing on the reintroduction of the endangered Mount Kenya antelope - the bongo.

The Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy offices are located across the reception of the Club and the access to the orphanage is located next to the main gate and the Art Gallery. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at the Cashier.

Mount Kenya Safari Club Forest Reserve Walking Safari
Mount Kenya Safari Club guided game walks in the Forest Reserve are available thought out the day, though the best times are early morning.

Guests are escorted by a naturalist as well as armed Kenyan Wildlife rangers, which makes for a very interesting three-hour walk, as the expert is a mine of information about the animals. Emphasis is placed on the flora and fauna, the bird-life, insects and the ecosystem.

Mount Kenya Safari Club is home of a large number of bird species including starlings, hornbills, secret ibis and many more. The club's naturalist will take you on a daily basis at 4pm on a one hour walk within the Club boundaries

Mount Kenya Safari Club horse riding through the Forest Reserve gives you a unique vantage point, as you can get very close to the animals. Book through reception, keeping in mind that the last ride is at 5:00 p.m.

Mount Kenya Safari Club Fishing Safaris (Full Day)
Mount Kenya Safari Club moorlands are a source of many freshwater rivers that cascade from rugged slopes. Trekking up or downstream on the Honi river, or waterfalls Chania, Karura and Gura, fishermen cast for the agile and swift Brown or Rainbow trout, using the popular 'Royal Coachman' fly. Rods / flies can be hired. Licence's will be arranged for you at the Reception.

Mount Kenya Safari Club Excursion at the Aberdare National Park (Full Day)
Traveling through the Salient, you gradually climb in your vehicle to the National Park gate at a height of about 8000 feet. As you ascend, you see the vegetation change to tall cedars, Podo trees, thick Bamboo forest and varieties of Alpine trees. Wild mountain flowers bloom in a riot of color.

Profuse bird-life (including such species as the scarlet tufted malachite sun bird) reside here. Despite the dense vegetation, you may have glimpses of elephant, buffalo, zebra, colobus monkey and waterbuck. At 10,000 feet in the upper tundra region you see the majestic peaks of Mt. Kenya, Batian and Nelion.

A half-day visit to this exclusive game ranch is available. The Game Ranch has large numbers of black and white rhino, leopard, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, colobus and vervet monkey and plenty of other wildlife.

Mount Kenya Safari Club Excursions to Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters Conservancy

(Full or Half Day)
Sweetwaters is the name adopted by the local people of this area for the fresh sweet water tapped from the ground. Located in typical savannah grasslands interrupted by the 'Whistling Thorn' shrubs, Acacia trees and lush green vegetation along the Uaso Nyiro River, this 24,000-acre rhino sanctuary is 15 km on an unpaved road from Nanyuki (good weather only).

A 200-acre chimpanzee sanctuary has been set up at Sweetwaters Game Reserve. The aim of the project, initiated by Lonrho East Africa, Kenya Wildlife Services and the Jane Goodall Institute, is to set up a colony where chimps can be introduced, rehabilitated and taught to fend for themselves in an area similar to their natural living conditions.

Priority is given to orphaned and abused chimps. The Sanctuary currently has 25 chimps, including two babies born in the Sanctuary.
