Mbweha Camp; Mbweha Camp is set in one of the most beautiful parts of the African Continent next to the Nakuru National Park in Kenya. Mbweha is the Kiswahili word for jackal. It is here that you can find all the three species of jackal found in East Africa, the Side-striped jackal, the Silver backed jackal and the golden jackal.

 

Mbweha Camp is tucked away in the spectacular vastness of The Great Rift Valley on a private 6400 acre Congreve Conservancy, Mbweha Camp is nestled up against the southern border of Lake Nakuru National Park with beautiful views of the Eburu and Mau Ranges.

 

Mbweha Camp location is hidden in a grove of Euphorbia Cactus with over 300 species of birds and is home to the majority of plains game such as eland, warthogs, zebras, leopard, grants, gazelle, waterbuck, impala, hyena, dik dik, buffalo, giraffe, aardvark, baboon and flamingo. Mbweha Camp renders one of the most fascinating experiences with its natural sanctuary of fauna and great variety of wildlife.

 

Mbweha Camp 10 cottages built of lava stone and thatched makuti roof add glamour and style to its contemporary African ambience. Every cottage is surrounded by Candelabra Euphorbia, yellow barked Acacia and other indigenous trees that provide a relaxed atmosphere as you listen to the African night sounds of a lion roar or the laughter of the hyena in the distance.

 

Bush walks, night game drives, sundowners or bush breakfast and hot air ballooning over the spectacular Great Rift Valley and the lakes below are additional activities that you can enjoy and enhance your stay in truly remarkable and authentic African setting.

 

Mbweha Camp is located in the Congreve Conservancy which borders Lake Nakuru National Park and is home to a multitude of plains game. An ideal area for guided bush walks. Balloon Safaris ending in a champagne breakfast can also be arranged for clients staying at Mbweha Camp.

 

Mbweha Camp is easily accessible from Nairobi by road in about 2 hours along the Nairobi – Nakuru Highway. Mbweha Camp has access to a nearby airstrip for charter flights.

Mbweha Camp is very decent little lodge, by far the best in this area, with 10 very well appointed rooms and pleasant public areas

Game-viewing is excellent and staying here, just outside the south end of the Nakuru National park, does provide the best chance of avoiding the crowds, especially early and late in the day

• Congreve conservancy and the neighboring Lake Nakuru National Park are a multitude of plains game and birds

Mbweha Camp Information

Mbweha Camp Banda’s

Mbweha Camp has 9 cottages. These cottages are made of local material; thatch roofs with natural lava rock walls and comprise a circular, roomy sleeping area with unsuited shower, and private veranda.

 

Though the cottages are simply designed they are comfortable and tastefully furnished with 12 volt solar lighting and are all private and completely separate from the campsite area. Access to Lake Nakuru park is only 15 minute drive from Mbweha Camp through Nderit Gate.


Mbweha Camp Bush Restaurant & Bar

Mbweha Camp sunken bar and specious lounge is open to all. It has an open fireplace, a pool Table, darts board and looks out at eye level over mown lawn area on to a small waterhole.

 

Mbweha Camp bush restaurant serves a choice of tasty, freshly prepared meals as well as game meat at reasonable prices in separate thatched dining room.
