Mara Timbo Camp Restaurant, Lounge & Bar and Gift shop
Mara Timbo Camp breakfast, lunch and dinner are served under the open African sky as long as the weather allows it. Additionally, the Camp has three cozy restaurant islands which ensure maximum privacy to the guests. To provide warmth to the cool Mara evenings, campfires are lit in front of these restaurant islands with sumptuous candlelit dinner as well as in front of the lounge.

Mara Timbo Camp lounge décor is tasteful with huge lounge chairs, artworks from local Masai Villages, with a well-stocked library. After the evening safari, pre-dinner drinks around the campfire are a delight with the resident naturalist entertaining and narrating stories about the local Masai tribe. You can reminisce the day’s events as you watch the rekindling fire! The Bar is set centrally located in the lounge area with the campfire ablaze, as our professional barman treats you to the most intriguing cocktails. Every cocktail on the list is challenging for him and strangely tastier than the previous one.

Souvenirs Guests are welcome to visit the camp’s well stocked gift shop located in a real Manyatta (a Masai hut) next to the lounge. Gift items include films, souvenirs, t-shirts, hats, Masai beadwork crafted by local Masai women

experience nature walks with the expert resident naturalist is exhilarating. The “little things” which were missed out on the 4 x 4 game drives will be sighted on foot and impeccable knowledge collected. It is most knowledgeable and memorable; you experience hands-on-feeling of the surroundings, animal footprints, droppings, wild flowers, plants and their medicinal or household use to the Masai tribe.

Unique experiences under moonlit skies, Night Game Drives are a must! Different from most other camps, Night Game Drives are allowed at Mara Timbo, since Mara Timbo Camp is not located within the National Park. Some of the animals are nocturnal and cannot be sighted during the day. Hyenas and jackals prefer to hunt during the night and sometimes the leopards and lion prides can be spotted. And of course Mara Timbo Camp’s direct neighbors, the hippos, come out at night for grazing on the vast plains surrounding the camp and can be spotted there.

You cannot be in the Masai Mara without curiously having an urge to visit and experience the way of life of the most cultural tribe in Kenya. The villages are en-route from the airstrip or on the way back from the game drive. Mara Timbo Camp
guide will organize to drop you there and with the assistance of a local chief, take the informative tour around the Manyatta.

Mara Timbo Camp Balloon safaris are the most breath-taking experience, not only during the great migration. The view is spectacular, tranquil and magical. Hot breakfast is cooked and served in the middle of nowhere an hour or so later after the exciting landing experience. A Balloon Safari can be organized at the camp with one of our cooperation’s partners.
