Loisiijo Lodge Shompole is named after the magnificent Tamarind tree around which it has been constructed. Loisiijo Lodge Shompole is located within the famous Rift Valley by Ewaso Ngiro River which flows from the highlands of the Mau escarpment into the soda lake of Lake Natron.

Loisiijo Lodge Shompole is hidden away on the fig tree shaded river banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River, beyond Lake Magadi in Kenya.

When staying at 'Loisiijo' you will be supporting the local Masai who are the owners of the lodge. Revenue from tourism & visits to the conservation area are contributing to the well-being of the local people.

There are 4 independent bandas/ bedrooms consisting of :

* One double & One Single Bed in each Banda

* One larger 2 bed roomed wooden deck building has 2 double beds & 1 single bed

All Loisiijo Lodge Shompole banda's have their own independent bathroom with a flush toilet, and an open air shower. Accommodation is available for 10 guests maximum.

Loisiijo Lodge Shompole consists of a large mess building with dining and sitting room overlooking the Uaso Nyiro River and shaded by huge fig trees lining the river banks. The style is simple and rustic built with local volcanic stone walls and thatch roofs made by the local Masai women.

Loisiijo Lodge Shompole Facilities
Loisiijo Lodge Shompole is fully equipped with the following facilities:

* Two dining tables with camp chairs

* kitchen has a gas operated cooker

* A sitting room area, with armchairs, and couches

* Linen and bedding is to accommodate 14 guests maximum

* There are 2 small fridges in the kitchen available for clients use
* Crockery, cutlery, glassware, thermos flasks and kitchen utensils
* The mess area & kitchen are lit with solar powered lighting. There are plans to install solar powered electricity in the bedrooms and hope this will be available soon

* Solar portable lights for rooms are available as well as paraffin lamps for the outside of the rooms & the walking path
* A cook & several staff will be available to assist guests with the making of beds, setting the table, and dishwashing

Important Note:

Loisiijo Lodge Shompole water is scarce so we are not offering laundry service at present. Whatever is brought to Loisiijo Lodge Shompole in the form of tinned food, bottles, plastic etc. must be removed at the end of a stay.

Waste will therefore be returned to Guests in a Bin Liner upon departure in order that it can be disposed of properly at your homes usual rubbish disposal. Please assist in keeping a tidy environment.

* Any jogging or walking in the area will be undertaken at your own risk

* Therefore all walks should be accompanied by the Shompole Group Ranch Ranger located at the lodge

* Warning - Loisiijo is located in a natural bush environment. There are wild animals living in this area and in the Conservation Area

* Do not feed the monkeys & baboons, Loisiijo Lodge Shompole is happy to have them living alongside the lodge but does not want them to become a pest and our enemies
