Larsens
Camp;
Larsens Camp Samburu is bordered by the Uaso Nyiro River
on one side; there is nothing to see but pristine nature
on the other three.
With
just 20 tented accommodations, Larsens Camp Samburu
all
inclusive adventures offer distinct luxury African safari
experiences. Larsens Camp Samburu was opened in 1987,
and is set in lush lawns on the bank of the Uaso Nyiro,
a river in Samburu National Reserve, 320 kilometers
north of Nairobi, Kenya, on the border of the old Northern
Frontier Province.
Tranquility
and nature embrace you the minute you enter Larsens
Camp Samburu with the river being the perfect stage
for an endless pageant of wildlife - elephants rolling
and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala nervously
drinking, baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through
the canopy of trees.
The
only man made noise is that of the young Samburu flutist
as he slowly makes his way along the river front. He
unobtrusively doubles as a palm nut thrower when the
monkeys become too bold.
Larsens
Safari Camp has 20 free standing luxurious tented accommodations
each with a private balcony. All tents are discreetly
sited along the west bank of the Uaso Nyiro River with
the result that the tents are bathed with light at sunrise.
Each
tent stands on a plinth of natural stone and all have
en suite private bathrooms stocked with a range of Molton
Brown toiletries, flushing toilets, constant hot water
and 24 hour electricity (240 volts). Larsens Safari
Camp tents all features 1 king or 2 twin beds designed
in chic safari style.
Larsens
Safari Camp climate
is equatorial desert type. The weather is hot all year
round with day time temperatures up to 33 degrees Centigrade.
The nights are cool.

Safari Camp
Fire
Many
a tale is exchanged around the fire each evening. Amidst
the glow from the embers, the calls of the African night,
a waft of cigar smoke and the kick of a White Mischief
liqueur, game drives are relived and personal histories
exchanged - it's a wonderful venue for making new friends
and imbibing the essence of Africa as did the safari
pioneers so many years ago.
Larsens
Safari Camp Tree

An
excellent place to enjoy a sundowner as you look out
onto the plains as the animals walk by.
