Kutazama Lodge nestles within the lush greenery of the Shimba Hills Conservation Area in Kenya. Holiday makers will enjoy access to a beautiful beach, amazing mountain views and game viewing.

This lodge exudes serenity with its elegant architecture, picturesque surroundings and delightful little luxuries. Kutazama Lodge not only overlooks the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary but is also part of the beautiful Mkongani forest reserves. A mere 30 minutes from Dinai beach, this is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway.

Kutazama Lodge property extends to 31 acres of which 7 acres are electrically fenced both for guest security and to keep the elephants out of the garden area. The grounds are extensively landscaped and terraced with numerous meandering pathways and steps leading to viewing vantage points or shaded patio areas.

Kutazama Lodge is situated in the Shimba Hills Conservation Area which covers approximately 250km² and consists of:

Kutazama Lodge is a luxury retreat which offers full use of the main house areas (lounges and dining area) and guest accommodation in private suites with verandahs, decking and huge beds.

Kutazama Lodge Orchid Tree House Villa

Kutazama Lodge Orchid Treehouse Villa is positioned on the far side of the swimming pool. Its lower deck comprises of a large bedroom with carved arched entrance doors. The bed is traditionally carved while double French doors lead onto the jacuzzi deck and spectacular tree trunks set into the walls.

Another carved door leads to a unique open fronted bathroom wit a large double shower, from where the views are spectacular. There are also twin vanity sinks , a toilet and matching bidet.

The whole back is a huge natural rock. A winding pathway leads to the upper deck that has a kitchen, a comfortable lounge with trees as the back drop, lush plants and dramatic rock.

This leads onto a raised open deck ed sunbathing terrace. At the far end of the deck is a large covered dining terrace with the most spectacular views across the elephant sanctuary. This villa comes with a personal butler and dedicated chef

Kutazama Lodge Frangipani Suite

Kutazama Lodge Frangipani Suite consists of a large en-suite bedroom with double French doors to the front and double solid carved doors opening into a lounging area with open aspects at the front. Here guests can enjoy private, romantic meals looking down onto the sanctuary and the magnificent pool.

The en-suite bathroom contains luxurious fittings including double vanity units, bidet, toilet and double shower. Steps down from the bedroom and a short pathway between raised flower beds leads to a totally secluded, private sundeck next to the bedroom which includes a beautiful full-moon Jacuzzi set into natural rocks.

Kutazama Lodge Facilities & Services

Everything about Kutazama spells untainted beauty, from its scenic views to minor details within each room. The architecture of each room maintains the holiday feel - man-made structures seem to flow gently into the rocky walls while the thatched roof adds a hint of softness.

All rooms are open plan with dazzling views of prolific plant life. Bathrooms are en-suite, built for comfort with a quaint vanity unit, bidet and double shower. Lounge and kitchen are located in the main house.

Kutazama Lodge lounge has an air of sophistication, with its interesting collections of tribal art pieces. It also has a well stocked bar, the perfect way to unwind after a long day of game viewing. As for the kitchen, all it takes is a pleasant walk by a delectable, tropical garden to reach your destination.

Like the rooms, the kitchen is open plan with views of plentiful plant life. Kutazama Lodge also has a pool and Jacuzzi, ideal for those lazy days in the sun.

The pool is a stylish feature of this establishment - set against a steep rock face, a gentle waterfall cascades down to the pool while on the lower end of the pool, guests can enjoy panoramic view of rich forestry. BBQ facilities are also available. Situated close to the pool, this is the perfect place to catch a romantic sunset with a loved one.

There are plenty of ways to relax and rejuvenate at Kutazama Lodge. Animal lovers will enjoy game viewing, be it watching the grand elephants of the Sanctuary or getting a glimpse of primates around Dinai Beach area.
