Kilima
Safari Camp
Accommodation
Kilima
Safari Camp 72 classic safari tents all are provided
with generator electricity and hot and cold running
water, showers and flashing toilets. The rooms are all
tented; actually, half tent half building.
The
bedroom/living areas are canvas walls and the wash/dressing
area is walled. Both parts are covered with a permanent
roof. The "tents" are fantastic with good,
comfortable beds and a fantastic bathroom with walk
in shower.
The
wash area has two sinks, with separate shower and toilet
facilities. There is one useable power point (British
3-pin style) available for use. If you need to recharge/power
more than one item we suggest you take along a socket
set. Each
‘tent’ has its own porch area with views
of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Kilima
Safari Camp has
a viewing tower so you can see into Amboseli and also
spot wildlife coming and going from a small waterhole
by the fence of the ‘camp’ area. There is
plenty of space in the open sided restaurant and tables
with a view of the mountain.
Kilima
Safari Camp Dining
and bars
Kilima Safari Camp offers a central dining and bar area.
Buffet style meals are taken in the central open air
restaurant which has an adjoining bar.
Child-friendly
Kilima Safari Camp welcomes children and offers children's
pool, baby-sitting, cots, children's menus and children's
mealtimes.
What to see and do
Kilima
Safari Camp is situated in Amboseli which is world-famous
for its populations of large mammals. The swamps are
a centre of activity for elephants, hippos, buffaloes
and abundant water birds.
The surrounding flat grasslands are home to grazing
antelopes. Spotted hyenas are plentiful, as are jackals,
warthogs, olive baboons and vervet monkeys.
No
longer present in their original numbers, lions can
still be found in Amboseli though the famous black-maned
lions have long since disappeared, as have the black
rhinos that were once so plentiful.
Wildlife
highlights: lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, zebra,
hippo, spotted and striped hyena, giraffe, oryx, wildebeest,
gerenuk, impala and Grant's gazelle. Birds: 425 recorded
species.
Visit
to an authentic Masai Village (En'kaang)
To experience the true Masai culture, Kilima Safari
Camp offers a visit to a traditional Masai village or
En'kaang.

dance and song), experience a unique insight into the
Masai lifestyle, learn more about Masai handicrafts
(beading and leatherwork) and have the opportunity to
purchase Masai artifacts direct from those who make
them.
