Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi – The Fairmont Norfolk Hotel

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, met and assisted by African Spice Safaris representative. Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast drive north towards the lush foothills of the Aberdare Mountain Range to the Aberdare Country Club for lunch.

 

After lunch transfer to The Fairmont Ark (children under 7yrs not permitted, light bags only) overlooking a waterhole and salt lick where the 'Big Five' occasionally gather for an exhilarating night of wild encounters. The Ark comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing.

After breakfast, our destination today is the cool, crisp Kenyan highlands and the historic Mount Kenya Safari Club, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens.

Day 4: Mount Kenya National Park – The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

After breakfast, This morning we drive to Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Both Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.

 

We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens!

 

In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Return to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure admiring the magnificence of the mountain.
